New Hawaii Five-O Intro [4k]

Reimagined intro to the original Hawaii Five-O TV series (OG 1968-1980).
Stunning aerial shots and flyovers of Waikiki beach and other Honolulu and Oahu landmarks such as the Ilikai, Aloha Tower and Diamond Head.
Here's the original, for reference/inspiration:

Aerial shots from a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.
Regulatory Information:
1. Drone flying is not allowed in the Punchbowl crater, that shot was taken from outside the crater, looking in.
2. FAA LAANC approval was required for the Aloha Tower shot due to airspace restrictions.

I used to see it about 40 years ago, and the reruns looked terrible on my CRT tv. The beauty of Hawaii was lost on me! (Eventually got to go see for myself and it was incredible).

Best ever TV show theme songs. I like the scene when they zoom in on actor Jack Lord on the top floor of the Ilikai Hotel & Resort in Honolulu.

@Mark Sheiman I remember watching this show, and the Ilikai was often used for filming and also mentioned as well. I own the Hawaii Five-0 classic series on DVD, and they there was a documentary in which James MacArthur and this lady who works for a TV station in Honolulu were standing in the penthouse suite where Jack Lord stood his perch.

Chris, having worked in HOLLYWOOD for some 40 years I knew the original creator of the iconic intro to HAWAIII FIVE-0... Reza Badiyi would be somewhat pleased with your salute, but like others have already commented your shots are too long, the very poor ending etc. You should have intercut the original star names into your drone footage, as with your zooming in on the Ilikai hotel rooftop. Still, good effort....

Graham, love your feedback. The original is an iconic masterpiece and I just wanted to pay some tribute to the original with some updated drone footage and updated shots. Amazing that you knew the original creator. Thank you for the constructive feedback, I may embark on an improved version the next time I can pull off a trip to Hawaii ;)

@@ChrisSaulit With the computer software today you can do things that in 1968 would've required weeks of work in editing and film processing with optical printers... May I suggest split screening the original titles with your new footage, matching the beat of the music and the style of the original. You don't even have to go to Hawaii either, there are scores of KZfaq videos you could use, and mostly in HD. I only worked a few episodes towards the end of its original run 1978-80... but you can learn how to frame your salute by observing how others do their various salutes on KZfaq... Good luck Chris!

The original show opening was way way way better. The pacing of this opening is too slow. Shots hold way too long considering the high-energy tempo of the music. At the end it looks like they ran out of good footage and just stuck some uninteresting street shots and some tiki lamps.
