I have the same model but am having some trouble with the ANPR and vehicle detection features, am using a Synology box as well. What has your experience with the camera been thus far, have you been able to get the license plate recognition working properly?

@@ChilliManilli I ended up returning that camera, and using an iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHSY. It is only 4MP, but much gets much better capture results at night and from moving cars, as the hardware is better suited.

hi I resolved the issue it was the leading zero's in the card ID it HAS to be 8 digits and if it wasn't 8 digits then I had to load it with 0 to make it 8 digits. Hope this helps some one else. PS to be fair it does say this in the manual.

yes it’s possible , we Can link to Hik central that will be able to sort longer data storage. There is also an option on latest I series firmware I can send over

@@DVSLTD Ok,thanks for the answer. I have been looking for an answer but i wasn't able to find anythig. Im trying to use it to get both entrance and exit and im pretty close to do so. The only problem is the blue line, that i can set only to get entrance or only to get exit as they are a little bit far away from each other.

yes blacklist can trigger an output, email , software notification for sure, and the plates don’t show up on the video itself but can work through the display tab and sub-stream , but to be honest add to the NVR or HIK-central and it shows all the plates as there read anyway 😊

you can potentially save them on the NVR if it has enough storage for that purpose, or the SD card internal to the camera. Past that the VMS HIK-Central will also allow recording of plate data for that period to review, so it depends on how you want to implement that part

Yes correct , mine tells me each time I pass through on the white list vehicles , sometimes the app doesn’t send the notification if there are a lot of the reads , but the email works every time 😊

I did try to explain , but entrance / exit is better for close up vehicle shots and lower height IE car park entrances, City street mode is better for vehicle monitoring on a road if that makes sense,

@@DVSLTD thanks, I have already configured several cameras of this series remotely (I work as a support technician for a distributor) and I have never really been clear about the configuration, neither by documentation nor by behavior. You do a good job showing all the news.

It’s the series number , they go from 1-9 really , higher the value , the more functions you get

@@DVSLTDthank you, that is very kind of you. I returned that one and they gave me another, and this one is plain terrible. And there is no official firmware for it. The first one worked well during the day, but the lights were not working so no after hours action. And that's where that saga started with bad firmware. The replacement is back in the box already, to be returned tomorrow. I have given up on them and ordered a Dahua DH-ITC431-RW1F-IRL8

normally the L would mean white light, does it have IR or white light on it???

@@DVSLTD well that is an interesting question. Physically it looks like IR (comparing to IR cams I have) but there is simply no option to turn anything on or off in the usual place (day/night), or any place for that matter....and it's night-time performance is not worth bothering.

@@DVSLTD things got worse. I contacted HikVision support, to ask them why there was no way to turn on the supplementary light. They sent me a link to the firmware for the "I" version saying it was essentially the same. After I flashed that, the unit stopped recording plates, and it is not possible to enable that function any longer. They then sent me a custom firmware link that made it even worse - the unit now just cycles through endless rebooting after working for a few minutes (but still no plate recognition). That was last week - they have now stopped responding to requests for help completely. I will try to return the unit.

actually these IDS-TCM ones you mention are also in the UK and are the best ones I have also done a video covering these on the channel if you want to review this
