My grandpa had one when I was little. I remember riding on it with him. Also had an Oliver tractor. That was about 25 years ago.

Makes nice tight looking bales. I believe I'de have to sit down though. That rocking forward and backward with each stroke would kill my back standing.
@joneshaybaling5 жыл бұрын
Ha, it's actually the quite opposite. You feel the rocking a lot less while standing. Most of the time move from sitting to standing throughout the day.

Self propelled bailer and swather, who needs a tractor. It probably does have the bailer drawbar to pull a wagon so its a neat little machine.

Surprised they didn't catch on more as I recall we had to wait for the tractor to get done baling so we could start hauling, our Farmall tractor wasn't that strong to bale and pull a load behind also, we did farm in hilly terrain..and no..no truck either...just poor happy folk

The only pluses is he’s not straining his neck looking back to the right for 14 hours. Even a pull type baler rocks the tractor back and forth. He could get waking up with a dust trail coming from his nostrils.
@lowellgates56525 жыл бұрын
The rocking depends on the baler design, those with inline flywheels rocked. I've spent countless hours on a JD 720D with a JD 14T baler, which had the flywheel on the side. No rocking with that design! I agree on the self propelled being too dusty!

@samkom335 жыл бұрын
what it needs is a heavyer flywheel like say the crone balers have, which if i remember correctly have a buildt in flywheel driven by the PTO which is 750 kg-1500+ pounds,, it eliminates-take up most of the shocks from the piston compressing the hay.. making the crone balers very effective, needing less horsepower while baling faster.

@jimbobrobert68345 жыл бұрын
I've baled enough hay to know that I would never have a machine like that, unless it had a cab. There are conditions that a baler will kick up dust like you cannot believe and that man would be standing right in the midle of it. A completely useless product IMO.
@joneshaybaling5 жыл бұрын
You do realise it was built in the early 70's. These machines would run circles around any tractor and baler combinations of the time.

@@frontagulus You have to be a moron to drop small squares on the ground. Put a hay rack behind that baler and you need 2 less people. I've stacked many thousand more bales than anyone else here.
@melyoungberg5956 Жыл бұрын
You have great looking machine. So why would you want to beat to hell out of your hay baler? Slow down!!! 14 to 18 slabs or flakes in each bale is best. You will get much better shape and size bales with less knotter problems.
