New Hope and Ivyland Railroad: #40 Rips the Rails

14 жыл бұрынHD 1080p: For the second time, Eastern Railfan Productions visits the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, this time with the 2-8-0 #40 running. It was one of those "perfect" days where the weather was beautiful, and #40 did not disappoint. On this adventure, we successfully pace the train along Mechanic Street, plus capture the train thundering through many of the crossings at 20+ miles per hour. Enjoy!

Dude...why do you not have more subscribers? EXCELLENT video, man! 40 looks and sounds better than ever! Love that SP 6 chime and I'm glad they finally installed an air rocker on the bell. I have to go and see her next month

@GenesisSanctuary Thanks! I've been waiting a while for #40 to come out, my dad found out on a forum (I think Railway Preservation News) that 40 was back out and running so we knew we had to get out there.

Very close. I think it's a Baldwin.used of the RR didn't have a special bell.

@hallcert - Ridership can be pretty eratic on the NH&I... some trains will be full, others will have only one car filled... But, they do a very nice job, no matter how many passengers they have :)

@srr7312 she was down for nessecary maintinance in early 2010. She is now down for her 1472 day rebuild, but this is progressing rapidly, and #40 is due back this fall.

Is there ever a time that steam goes past Lahaska? They did have a photo freight to Ivyland a few years ago, which I was on, but they should have more runs to Buckingham Valley and Wycombe with steam. Oh, is #40 running yet? Will it be running at all this year even on the December trains?

@rgerhardtembarq Thanks! I made it in Final Cut Pro by putting random clips together, added music, and then the logo coming together was done with special effects in that program.

can someone tell me the type of bell that is?also is it the same bell on Strasburg/Great western #90?

@bigjim4life My guess is it's either a Southern 3 or 6 Chime, I'm no expert so maybe someone who knows can give a better answer.

@indie1361 Nothing can really be rushed on a steam locomotive, otherwise it's just cause for unnecessary headaches. The amount of time it takes will depend on whatever necessary repairs she may need, which hopefully won't be too much.

@indie1361 Offhand I'm not sure, but go to NH&I's website, go to contact us, then click where it says "click here" under join our mailing list then send them an email about cab rides. In fact there's a box on that page where it says "locomotive cab rides". Make sure you put a check next to that.

When do you think #1533 should be up and running again? When was the last time the NH&I Railroad did steam doubleheaders with 1533 and 40 together?

@trainfann1 40 only has about 19 or 20 days left on hers tubes then she will be back out for awhile to get them replaced.

@Bassfanatic94 Nah Final Cut only works for macs, but it can work for laptops as long as they are macbooks, or something similar.

The intro song is a royalty free instrumental tune I believe called “Champions”. I’ve refrained from using it any further in favor of a shorter intro from here on out though!

I was at NHILRR when I was younger. I was disappointed because they don't always run a Steam Loccy. Not as fun running a cheesy Diesel.
