great choice id get the 'expedition' model for the upgraded 'R' spec suspension , that wasnt out yet when i bought mine or i would have , 12000 miles on mine now and its easily hands down the best bike ive ever had and ive been financially irresponsible enough to have had a few !! that lower COG from those tanks is a game changer

I recently took my 790 AdventureR onto some serious rocky climbs and a tripple stair step (Bent my wheel...) in South Dakota, and the R suspension was amazing. It gave me so much control of the bike, zero surprises. That said it's HARSH on road and would never recomend R suspension unless most of your riding is offroad. You pay for that offroad compliance on the road. - Frank

it is always a compromise , i wish i had been able to get the expedition with that far superior suspension but i wound up spending way more than id intended initially on Tractive Extreme shock and fork drop ins = super happy with the result of course its pure magic now @@OneOldManRiding

I picked up a new Norden 901 6 weeks ago. Really digging it so far. I did have a small oil leak from the countershaft seal that the dealer replace under warranty. Had the infamous coolant leak too. Other than those two items I have been impressed with the Husky. I installed the Tusk Olympus panniers and I installed the OEM rear luggage plate from Husky. I did the first oil change myself at 625 miles. Like others have said, page 79 in the owners manual says 1st service at 620 miles. Also states to remain below 6500 RPM during the first 620 miles. Installed the same windscreen extender your buddy has on his bike and also the Quad Lock for my phone. I had the heated grips and the Explorer software installed by the dealer before delivery. Had them order the Expedition tall windscreen but it is on indefinite back order. Enjoy the ride Jason! 😮

Good choice, mine has over 11k miles on it. Would be more but I ride a 2nd bike for pavement only rides. Cross Pro Upper bars and an AXP bash plate is the way to go, low weight, Vanasche or Pivot Pegz to replace the OEM. Heated grips and seat are nice and the windscreen visor Chris has will quiet things down and get some of the blast out of your face. That'll get you started. Enjoy.

Congrats on the new ride! I’m enjoying mine as well. Now if I could just improve the windshield buffeting. It’s brutal. I got the Expedition taller windshield but it’s only nominally better. Enjoy! 👍

I know, RIGHT?!? I said the same thing when we were there picking up his bike. Everything around here is owned by Velocity. Without any competition, I feel companies become complacent and lose their desire to go the extra mile for their customers.

dont think crash bars are necessary just a good skid plate luggage rack and bark busters do the job ?? i tried hard this time to talk myself into the way sexier Mosko Moto or Giant Loop rack and bags combo but holey crap batman they cost 3 times as much and ive run Tusk rack and bags on my 1090r for 34000miles they are tough as coffin nails @@Jason_MotoPhotoAdventures 12000 miles on this bike with the Tusk Olympus set up and im happy with it

That engine should have a first service at 600. I would doubt the manual says 1500-2000. Then every 9300. The 9300 is great for long trips. - Frank

Yes - can't trust the salesman I was pretty sure he was wrong about 1000 to 2000 miles. It's the same engine as the KTM and same maintenance intervals.

Jason here: Yes, the 800 DE was at the top of the list. But I considered the TransAlp, Tenere, and Triumph. Even glanced at some others as well.
