The 2024 Hyundai Creta, a popular midsize SUV, receives a comprehensive update with a refreshed exterior, redesigned interior, added features, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Despite its success since 2015, Hyundai has introduced significant changes for the new model year. The front showcases a larger grille with parametric details, new lighting arrangements, and scuff plates, giving it a more squared-out look. Alloy wheels are the only exterior giveaway on the sides. The rear boasts a more angular design, LED tail-lamps, and a full-width LED light bar. The dashboard is revamped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital driver's display. The interior features dual-tone grey themes, and the upholstery differentiates variants. However, the absence of soft-touch materials and some fit-finish issues are noted.
The rear cabin now includes two USB Type-C charging ports, maintaining ample space with good legroom. The Creta retains its competitive 433-liter boot volume, and the rear seat offers a 60:40 split-fold for increased cargo flexibility. Feature-wise, the Creta impresses with a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, air purifier, electric parking brake, panoramic sunroof, and a tech suite with a 10.25-inch digital display, 360-degree camera, and Bose sound system. The vehicle also introduces connected tech with features like a new Jio Saavn music streaming app.
The Creta is available with three engine options: a 115hp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol; a 116hp, 1.5L diesel; and a new 160hp, 1.5L turbo-petrol. The turbo-petrol engine, though not as punchy as some competitors, offers strong performance across the rev range. The 7-speed dual-clutch auto is responsive but may fumble at low speeds. The Creta remains user-friendly, with pleasant ride comfort, good visibility, and manageable size. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Top-spec variants get Level 2 ADAS with functions like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto emergency braking. The 2024 Creta starts at Rs 11 lakh and goes up to Rs 20 lakh, offering 19 variants to cater to diverse budgets. Overall, the Creta continues to impress as a well-equipped, spacious, and aesthetically pleasing midsize SUV.
