Thank you for this review. I just bought it. I was never able to get the first one and I wasn't about to miss out on this one. The color appears to be Hunter Green. Guess what my favorite color is? Yep, you guess it. Hunter Green. The Lord knew I would like this one better than the pink one.

Nice comparison video. For me color is irrelevant, I also have several other study bibles I use. My “pink” Illustrating Bible is great for art Bible Journaling which is why I purchased it. I have looked at other journaling bibles and they fall short in my mind. Version is also not an issue. I like the new chapter titles allowing more space to work with. A larger font would be nice as it is hard for us seniors to find what we are referencing but if it doesn’t happen no big deal. Magnifying glass works. I will continue with my “pink” until it is full then purchase the new version. As always, you do a fantastic job in all of your videos Lindsey. Thank you.

I have decided to save up until my birthday present to myself in August. Then I will have had my old one for 2 years and have been working it for that long. And it is full!!! I personally love the KJV version, but like you said this is for BIBLE JOURNALING!!! As for the watercolors, I have seen one Bible Journaler after the paint is all dry she has a small travel iron and she flattens them out by ironing!!

Except for the outside color, the changes seem slight. One thing that is interesting is that with this teal green color being darker, the outside of it will stay clean looking. I have the pink one and it is getting fat! I have to say, I am really happy Dayspring came out with this one especially for all who wanted the first one and were too late. I LOVE this bible! The coil binding is awesome because I can put chunky pieces in it. Freedom! I can't imagine using thinner margins again, unless you want to take a smaller bible you illustrate in to church or on the go. There is something so special about having this bible to illustrate in. I leave it out and every single time open it, I am blessed....remembering the times I discovered a new truth and did art on that truth. So worth the money. I thought I was really spoiling myself to spend this much, but now I think, " Wow! What a great buy!"

I ordered the first one right when it came out, but then it sat on my shelf for a few months because it intimidated me and I was busy trying to keep up with the 100 days Journal. I finally made myself dive into it in February and now, like you, I will never go back. I love the space and somehow that has freed me up to try more techniques and products since there is so much space. I do really like the color of the new one and don’t want to miss out on it, but I’m thinking I’ll try to hold off for a bit since I do have a lot of space left to journal in the first one.

You said everything with class and elegance well done!!! Im pleasantly surprised by the color. I was initially thinking grass green as well, love the blue undertones.

Thank you so much for this review! I'm brand new to Bible journaling (but an old pro at art and scrapbooking) and couldn't decide which Bible would be best for me to journal. I know now it's definitely this one!! I would love if the paper was more watercolor friendly, however, I can easily paint on strips of watercolor paper and glue it into the Bible; problem solved! The large coil can easily accommodate the bulk of glued-in paper. Looking forward to watching your other tutorials!

I ordered mine. Other than the new color I love everything they have changed. Like every new product it has a learning curve. When I started using the pink one, all my entries included rose gole in them and were only a third of the page. I was obviously intimitated by all that space! Now any color goes and I do the whole page unless there is already part of an entry on it.

Thanks much for this video with the comparisons. Good to know the pilling factor remains. I have the rose gold one and have yet to fill it up. I am so excited about this one, I plan to use it for 2020 Bible journaling. (Yes, that's a ways off but it gives me planning time.) ;-) For so many reasons, I had to pre-order - I didn't want to risk not getting one being a part of that. Pink & dusty rose/pale mauve were the colors in our wedding; his favorite color was blue, mine is green and this cover 'marries' those up beautifully. Then there's the white pages, the wide margins, the coil binding, the smaller titles in the margins, and I'm sure I'll find more once I have it in my hands. Thanks again, Sister!!

Thank you for the review. Honestly I wasn’t crazy about the green when they first released the pictures but now, seeing the true color, it’s much prettier. But, like you said, I’m not looking at the cover most of the time, so the cover color really doesn’t matter that much to me. 😁 My biggest wish is that they would work on a more watercolor-friendly paper for the next version. The title placement would be next on my list of changes. I have the original version and still have lots of journaling room, so I won’t be ordering the new one, at this time, but glad to hear they have more stock in case I do fill it up. 😊💕

I do wish that there was a more watercolor friendly paper but I guess it would probably be even thicker which would just make the Bible even bigger 🤷🏻♀️

It looks stunning and I like the few differences - having said that, I have only had my pink one for a couple of months so will stick to that for the time being - glad they have produced more of the green ones

I was fortunate enough to get my illustrating bible on a black friday sale last year. I was intimidated by all that space at first, but love being able to do multiple entries and multiple verses on the same page.

Hi Lindsey~ Wonderful review! I love my rose gold bible & it has nothing to do with the color, lol! A Rich green is my fav actually! I agree with all you pointed out. I would like to add something though. (It’s probably a no-brainer) Another plus with the humongous coil binding is being able to fold the entire bible back to leave just the one page you are working on flat on the table. Unless I have a dimensional item on the back of that particular page, writing, stamping etc is SO much easier! No pudgy, lumpy, wobbly cool stuff getting in the way of creating! L-O-V-E this coil!! ~Lenora 😘💕

So.... I bought the Psalm and Proverbs Illustrating Bible first just to see if I wanted the Big Momma and oh my gosh it is fantastic, it is a game changer and I love it! I cant believe I wanted so long to get this but now that I have it, because I did get one😁, I will never go back to a traditional bible.

For those who are still looking for the Rose Bold Illustrating Bible, our local Lifeway had a few about a month ago AND on sale. (I think I ended up getting it for $60). So, I went ahead and grabbed another one for my daughter, but also ordered the new green one as well. Some Christian book stores still have a few floating around until they are all gone., you just might want to check.

I was originally going to get an interleaved Bible but after Amazon raised the price to $50 (now it is no longer prime) that tipped it for me. For just another $50 I can get a WAY nicer Bible. This will be my one and only purchase this month, so no shopping. But it is totally worth it 😍

Love the fact that the titles are smaller and more modern! For now, I think I'm going to stick with admiring this Bible through your videos. Still working on the Bibles I have, and I don't think I'm quite ready or need something that big at the moment. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate how they are making changes based on previous comments. Thank you for taking the time to do this review.

i love the color of the new bible. Im not convinced that i want to spend 100 on the new one. I don't see enough difference than the original. However, i don't do the in-depth pages that you do. One thing for sure, i appreciate your review of the new one. It helps me make my decision.

I never bought the last one because I didn’t want pink. I love this teal. I prefer copper over gold though.

I did like the copper. It’s difficult to really see too much difference since the gold is more of an antique gold and not a bright gold.

Re:water color - have you tried with water brush pens vs. spraying first? I use more than regular brushes

My hubby said he’ll buy me the BGB (Big Green Bible)for Mother’s Day! I truly don’t need it yet, my BPB (Big Pink Bible, lol!) isn’t near full yet... but better safe than sorry! Lol!! Besides, I have a lot of grandchildren to leave heritage bibles to once I’m up singing with the angels! I’m going to start adding photos of them (& more) to augment my prayer journaling with all the room my BGB & BPB afford in the margins! What do you think?~Lenora

Hi Lindsey! I am new to the world of bible journaling, and am watching your videos on this bible. When I search for the rose gold bible, it’s showing listed for a “pre-order”. I know Day Spring sells it in the green color, but do you know if they’ll be selling the pink color in September? Also, can you modge podge on these bible pages?

DaySpring will be offering new ones later in August (I know there will be a grey cover, not sure on the pink one as I haven’t received any info about that one). I haven’t really tried to “mod podge” but these pages are thicker than typical Bible paper so I don’t see why you couldn’t. I wouldn’t use actual Mod Podge though as it can become sticky in some climates and stick your pages together. I use Matte Gel Medium in place of mod podge.

Thank you for your in depth review but Can you please just cut the chatter and get to the point? I am extremely interested as I never heard of a “journaling bible” and I really like the idea yet every time I search for a more succinct version of your review it is the same thing with every video. Despite that one issue your review is good

It’s actually really great quality paper but, like a good quality cardstock, it’s great for some things but not so great for others 🤷🏻♀️

I actually do buy quite a bit. If I was to share the taxes that I just filed, you would see that I have thousands of dollars in expenses for my “business” (which translates to “I’ve purchased a lot of products on my own” 😉) I can understand how it’s hard to believe that someone is honest when receiving product for free but it comes down to integrity. I pride myself in my integrity and that I’m honest about how I feel about the products I share. As evidence in this video where I shared about how I think there can still be improvements made to the book titles and, in detail, showed how watercolor can be a little tricky to use on this paper. The great thing about KZfaq and social media is that you have the choice to watch or not watch someone’s content. Sounds like you need to make that choice about mine 💕

I was unable to finish watching the video. I generally won't watch a product review video that has a 5 minute introduction, but your enthusiasm for it kept me engaged. After 12 minutes of a 29 minute video, the review hadn't progressed much further than the cover and the commentary seemed to ramble and repeat so I finally stopped it. I didn't want to hear what others prefer; I just wanted to hear about the bible and your opinion. I'm sorry for the negative review. I hope that you will take this simply as one subscriber's constructive criticism. I will probably play the video as I do dishes to try to catch the major points of your review.
