1.20.5 pre release 1 Minecraft update nerfed oozing, infested, weaving potions. But added new advancements for 1.20.5 armadillo, dog armor, dog types. Also 1.21 advancement. Many fixes to wind burst, wind charges, mace and trial chambers.

Having pack.png as a painting is such a rad idea, I wish they stylised it though it does look a little awkward atm.

It may now not work with snowballs, which is a bugfix (insert long controversy if these are considered nerfs/buffs here), and their chance to be summoned was doubled, so definetly not a straight nerf, that's for sure.

Oh, I initially thought the cobweb farm was buffed by the weaving potion changes, as now it spawns 2-3 cobwebs per entity instead of the original 1. Didn't consider the density changes I guess...

i think mojang should add the enchantment for the mace that the mace deals AoE damage,when you hit that one mob(example creeper) the mob in radius deals AoE damage the higher the enchantment level the higher the Aoe damage radius.

Max cramming is only on a per block basis, so would expanding the kill area for the mobs getting slimed to multiple blocks allow more slimes to spawn in per slime potion?

I really like the mace changes actually it's more balanced and more fun in a way. You can no longer just spam somebody with the mace that's enchanted with windburst and obliterate a player with full netherite in just a few hits and also makes the wind charges more useful this way IMO

The oozing nerf is good. Now oozing-based slime farms will be less overwhelming for performance, and also require more potions to be maximally efficient. This stops them from outright replacing swamp- or slime-chunk-based farms, but leaves the oozing potion as a viable option for slightly improving mob farm yields. Not crazy about the weaving nerf, which I hope was accidental. If left in, cobweb farms will be much pess efficient, but also more interesting to build, with compact options not hurting the dismal new rates, so like... I don't mind.

Them outright replacing slime chunk farms is a GOOD thing, absolutely nobody likes the fact you HAVE to use chunkbase just to have a renewable source of something basic

@@cherricake1796 The slime chunk hasn't been the only-or even best-option for slime farms since 1.18 changed mob spawning rules. Granted, the technical community only realized this after Mumbo made a really bad swamp farm in Hermitcraft season 9, but you already don't need chunkbase. What I'm saying is that I don't want a small potion module on an enderman farm to make BOTH of those farms, based on the natural spawning of slimes, totally obsolete.

The wind burst change is nice, it could get pretty rough trying to fight in tight corridors with it sending you up every hit.

Im back to not liking the Mace with the nerf, there is really no use for it on a single player survival world aside from killing the ender dragón faster, so maybe like 20 uses or whatever per world if I want all of the gates open. Really not worth the inventory slot imo, and I think that even the people saying that is way to OP will never use it.

Weapons in general in single player have no use besides the sword because PvE is such a joke. If you don't care about Looting however, the Mace is basically a direct upgrade to the sword. Still two shots basic mobs on even ground, one shots undead with smite with no crit required, has similar DPS as a sharpness 5 against armored enemies, and has the potential to one shot beefier mobs from not even that high up. And has a movement exploit where you proc windburst by hitting your own wind charge. In a scenario where PvE was any sort of difficult, the mace would be comically overpowered, as it is in PvP environments. So no it's not "useless" in PvE it's just unneeded because PvE is so trivial, and the movement exploit can already be replicated with just a trident or elytra.

@@lordenma8 I never asked for a nerf, I asked for a buff and was happy with the enchantment. It is useless, name a single case aside from the one I already mentioned, that it's not solved an easier way already

@@nekoblue77 It has no sweeping edge so it's worse for multiple enemies, it's slower that every other weapon if you want to use its gimmick, and I already one shot undead with an axe that doesn't take an extra space. And the movement exploit is gone.

I’m looking at this update and just seeing amazing potential for mods, datapacks, and custom maps. I remember the days when mods like Orespawn, Twilight Forest, and a lot of others were plastered all over Minecraft’s KZfaq content adding more fantasy RPG dungeon-crawling, boss fighting, and exploration. Nowadays most of the older well-known mods seem to not really be getting updates, and while there’s definitely a few more recent mods that look like they could take up the mantle, but most of them don’t seem to be getting the same widespread mod-showcase coverage… this update is giving me hope.

@@BryanLu0 there’s a newer one from the past couple years called the Aylyth that looks really good as well, less outright RPG and more like Twilight Forest’s environmental challenges and ambiance. except Aylyth has a somewhat spookier theming, the dimension it adds is sort of a ‘forest of the dead which the living are not usually able to persist in’ that cranks up all the old dense trees + render distance fog tricks that made old Minecraft spooky while adding lots of subtly unsettling nature-themed elements.

For improving those slime spawning farms, you can split your feed stock up (either after splashing them or out to the max splash radius) and then cycle your kill cycles. That could be particularly useful if you are using something like chicken farms to create your feed stock. Likewise you could do so with the cobweb, but it would be very rare that you would need that much cobweb to be worth the extra trouble.

The mace is the loot. Making it more difficult doesn't necessarily mean it should be more rewarding, it's just a balance change

@@hhff8534 Except the loot already needed to be better, so this just made the discrepancy worse. No one want to almost lose all their stuff dying just to get some poison arrows, a damaged shield, and an emerald or two.

@@Trident_Gaming03 like i said, you can get the mace from ominous vaults, which also give you other stuff like diamonds, enchanted golden apples, unique armor trims and more. you can't expect every single vault to give you something crazy. i would definitely risk my stuff to get the mace. also, breezes give wind charges which is useful too

@@hhff8534 That's only if you like the mace, though. Thankfully, they've confirmed there are other ways of getting it, but the trial chamber offers nothing for other playstyles. That's what made Caves and Cliffs so great, it had variety. Trial Chambers don't really offer much other than combat. I'm not saying it should be packed with other stuff, as it's a "Trial Chamber" but for it to have basically nothing else means that it's useless to entire sections of the playerbase.

@@Trident_Gaming03 when exactly did they confirm it would have other ways of getting it? and trial chambers is meant to offer combat. it's literally a structure, what do you expect? i mean.. if you like building, they added 2 new blocksets, sherds, banner patters, if you like redstone, they added crafters and copper bulbs and if you like combat, they added trial chambers and all the stuff with it. the update has stuff for all types of playerbases, but focuses more on combat.

I seriously hate these new potion effects. They feel overpowered and unnecessary, why do we need this OP slime potion or infest potion... And they really couldn't think of a better way to make cobwebs renewable other then potion and cobwebs spawning from thin air...

Didnt know about these till seeing this video and i feel pretty much the same, really just doesnt very minecraft. It feels like something a mod pack would add to make a weird form of progression through mods lmao. Don't get why they didnt just make cave spiders drop webs or make them craftable. Glad theyre adding unique stuff but this ones just weird man

@@BinxCraft as if trading with villagers didn't allow to get infinite diamond tools and armour. Now, I am not sure if the changes to villagers is part of the next update since it was a while ago now when they experimented with them.

It's just inventory clog they are fixing. Why would you need all that random armor, you already get diamonds from vaults
