Yes, it's nice to see all the new nods to North African and middle eastern traditional homedecor elements. Also the large pewter grey table lamp is clearly inspired by Moroccan homeware. In Sweden where alot of this is designed Morrocan interior styles have been very trendy for years but import, shipping and taxes make it more expensive and available mostly in chic city shops. Anything Ikea does is such large volumes the prices are low so I see thr attraction, though I personally would rather spend on precisely the elements of my home that are traditionally handcrafted to support craftsmanship and bc art is everything to me. I'm in Sweden so IKEA is extremely known low budget furnishings so using IKEA without it being that obvious is kind of key here. Which is why we have alot of companies here that specialize on upgrading IKEA with other doors, knobs, all sorts of exclusive feet for cabinets and sofas, etc. Alot of the products are great for personalizing. I rralize the catalogue looks are more exoticly "Scandi" in other parts of the world. Also the catalogues themselves are entirely different looking depending on the country and culture. But I know high end interior decorators who use some Ikea products to great effect like the semi sheer fabric sold per yard that's dirt cheap which looks great if you gather triple widths by bright windows and nobody would ever know. And I swear, there's very few kids rooms and first flats in this country without Ikea solutions here and there since the '60s.

@@cq8822 yes. I built myself a kitchen in 19 the mid 90s with Moroccan Zellige tiles, and it was on point then and new to Swedes. Ikea like H&M is always behind in trends which is why you should really buy styles you know you wont tire of. But these items are details and inexpensive. That being said I still love Moroccan style but it's the actual hand made quality items in genuine materials that I find attractive. The thing in Scandinavia is "scandi" has always been the basic look here. So it seemed kind of funny to us when Ikea hit the states and everyone thought it was a "trendy look". But with trends it's also pretty cyclic, in both fashion and interiors, so that's another aspect.

Great to see another shopping trip from you Valentina! You have totally changed my daily life. I wake up to my new Nepresso coffee now and place my cups on your chargeen tray. I cover myself with the snow leopard throw and enjoy the morning with my hubby. You are wonderful and I can’t believe all of the changes. My hubbys fav of yours is the marble round covered bread holder which I used at Christmas for all the goodies. It was beautiful and keeps everything fresh. Love all of your suggestions! Can’t wait to see more. Oh and I love the new traditional looks you mentioned last video and I feel if I buy anything from Restoration Hardware it’s a classic. Just wish I could afford more. Ha

The silver lamp looks inspired by Valentine's Day as the pattern looks like X's and O's. 🙂 I remember not being impressed with Ikea the first time I went because I'm not a fan of that type of furniture but last year I needed more shelving for books and purchased one of the Kallax shelving units and it has worked out great! I've gone back a couple times since to look at accessory items and have found more treasures. I'm glad I gave the place a second chance. Thanks for sharing the new items!

An IKEA chair that has a designer look and superb quality that often gets overlooked is the FLINSHULT armchair. Especially in what they call brown/beige with what looks like a chevron pattern. I think that fabric color looks more like a neutral grayish-sage. The chair is gorgeous and timeless, the fabric is chic and it is built well. You have to see this chair in person and sit in it to truly appreciate the comfort, quality, and construction. Remember, not all the pieces in your home have to be exactly period matching to the era that you like. This has a little bit mid-century modern vibe, a little American traditional vibe. It's a little on the higher end price point, but well worth it.

Happy 2023! I just saw a Pin of your lounge room that has wooden pendant lights hanging either side of your fireplace. It was an ad for Dezaart Design Workshop. I can’t remember seeing those in your videos but they drew the eye up. What my picture framer taught me was to put felt protectors on the lower corners of the frame to keep it off the wall so there’s airflow behind it.

Hey Valentina! I only have limited experience with Swedish (We had Swedish exchange students in HS, and 5 years of Swedish classmates at University - But I know some of the rules - I think it's easier than you think to pronounce - This helps: (I looked it up to confirm my pronunciation was correct) “A” is pronounced differently depending upon whether it is long or short. When long, it is pronounced like the “a” in far. If short, it sounds like the “a” in the Spanish word casa. E - is pronounced like the “e” in deck, even when long. It never sounds like the “e” in deep. In Swedish pronunciation, another vowel takes that job. I - is pronounced like the “e” in the words be or deep. O - can be pronounced two different ways, generally depending on context. It can sound like the “oo” in too, or it can be pronounced like the “o” in the word for. U - is a trickier vowel since there is no sound in English exactly like it. The closest example would be the long “o” sounds in the English words two and you. However, the sound is created more from the front of your mouth, with the tip of your tongue touching your teeth. It is important to really practice these vowels, along with the following ones and the consonants that sound a bit different. Swedes will not be able to understand you if you cannot grasp Swedish pronunciation. Å - as the “o” in the word for. Ä - as the “ai” in the English word fair Ö - as the “ea” in the word earn. Y - like the “y” at the end of names such as Terry. Consonants are mostly the same, but there are a few differences. J - sounds like the “y” in yes. K - sounds like the “k” in keep or the “sh” in sheep. R - is rolled, just as in Spanish but not as forcefully. Your enthusiasm is rubbing off on me- I just had my Marin sofa delivered and was literally squealing when the delivery people left 😹 only to find that the delivery driver had to come back in for me to sign the papers and therefore heard me squealing. Oh well!

I went to IKEA 5 times last year, and most of what I wanted was out of stock. Have things finally adjusted? I wonder if the amount of new products has to do with seeking more reliable distributors. Crossing my fingers 😍 I’ll be skipping the silver personally, but I’m a big fan of the rest
