Robyn, I am just finishing up watching the past two years of all your videos and I have to tell you that you have definitely caused a shift in my aesthetic and my artwork in general. You are quite possibly the most unique artist I’ve ever seen on KZfaq. You have shown me new techniques and opened my eyes to deeper meanings and symbols in ways that I have never considered. Journaling/collaging used to be something I just did to relax. Now It has evolved into something deeper. It has more meaning for me. I feel more connected to my artwork. Plus you are just fun to watch because you are a very authentic and sincere person. I really appreciate you. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas, wisdom, and experience.

Another great Saturday - thank you! 🤗❤️👏🏻 Yep, a lightbulb went off for me 🙋‍♀️ when you linked color palettes to unfinished projects, how even with every good intention and while still loving the original work-in-progress, sometimes you aren’t able to get back to working on it simply because those particular colors aren’t resonating just now. (A sweet excuse for procrastination, too!! 😆)

I figure most of us haven’t been travelling and encounter different environments to stimulate our choice palette. But as seasons change, yes, it does affect me. I’m doing journals on water, summer blues, white, sand, yellow, etc. all associated with lakes, ocean, rivers, dockside, beach sand, and dunes with grasses. Yet, I love black, beiges, greys, shimmers, scripting with subtle accents all year round.🦌💌❤️📚

Oh. My. I just spent this afternoon in a flurry of "scripting" with black ink, stenciling with white gesso, and spritzing with coffee, Distress Inks, even some watercolor. I made 10 amazing (okay, to ME) pages, which I ripped down to make a small (4×5ish inches) book. Can't wait to sew it together tomorrow! Totally ready for some collage and other enhancements. This was a ridiculous amount of fun!

OMGOSH! I saw your videos years ago when I was just starting out but couldn’t remember your name and your video just popped up today. Your art is amazing! Actually my daughter who is a Graphic designer did the into for me and she chose YT approved soundtracks so as to not get the video flagged....Not sure the name of it but if you Google YT music the various soundtracks will come up! :)

What is the coffee mixture with alcohol that you mixed up yourself? Can’t seem to find it. Also what paper are you working with - i know you mention a lot of your different sources but was curious which one can take all the moisture you’re using? Loved all these ideas.! Thank you.

Hi Renee, here's a link for the paper it's archival tissue paper amzn.to/3A2ZfM9 and here's the basic coffee formula: using $ Store coffee so the cheapest you can find the ratio's are 1 cup of instant coffee to 2-2.5 cups of hot water (once you make this formula you can alter the amounts in the future to make stronger or weaker) once the mixture cools down add to your spray bottle and use just a dash (a teaspoon) of rubbing alcohol to preserve the mixture...that's it! :) xo

Oh Robyn, this is so inspirational. I think I'm going to have to try this out! Quick question for you - can you tell me what your coffee spray is made from - you mentioned alcohol as a preservative?? I have been back to look for the instructions in a couple of your earlier videos and I can't find the information. Thanks!

Robin hi do you read your comments? First on all , hi, I’m Nancy , archaeologist by education,an artist via birth right😉 And you’ve managed to synchronize what took me years to learn about preparing my paper for printmaking an image. Kudos to you! But what paper are you using and what inks , pigments , etc. 👍 That you! I do a lot of the same but looking for materials that are new to me I do live drawing cavs wall paintings !

Hi Arkeo and welcome! In this video I just using Hammermill Premium Color Copier Paper, I like to use things that are accessible to all so that my results can be reproduced without spending crazy money to do so...lol However in my fine art I use traditional printmaking papers like BFK or Arches, though I also will use traditional Chinese calligraphy papers too and vintage 25-100% cotton papers like Crane or Southworth. I'm using Sumi Ink (the black) and the spray dyes are from Seth Apter.com his iZink spray dyes (his website and product link is in the description below the video as well as the other products i commonly use, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom. I also like Tim Holtz distress sprays I believe I used one of his in this vid, "bundled twig" The Gesso is Liquitex and the stencils are my new release the link is also in the description box.
