legendary song ... literally there is this annual survey abt "what song was your favourite this year?" every end of the year (Gallup), and in 2021 - 2022, 2-3% ppl still answer Through The Night. This is 2017 song.

Written by IU and composed and produced by Kim Je-hwi and Kim Hee-won , the song served as the lead single of Palette, released on March 24, 2017

You'll recognize Kim Je-hwi in IU's mv's. He's the left-handed guitarist on many of her live clips, the pianist in her live clip of 'Knees'. And he's the producer in the most recent studio recordings giving her instructions. He also admitted to sometimes drunk-dialing IU to tell her how much he loves and appreciates her.

Through the night is a lullaby, she wrote it because she had insomnia and hoped the song would bring relief to listeners and allow them to fall asleep. This was the song that got me hooked on IU but for me, Love Wins All is where she showcase her vocal ability to the fullest to date. I’m so glad she is taking greater chances with more and more complex and challenging songs. No one sounds quite like her.
