I have two guesses about sweet Justin's barking. One - that he hears you talking to us like we're there and thinks someone IS there. Two - he hears you talking like that and knows that food is there! 😁 Love to all 3 of you! 💖

As an Englishman, that is 100% not a scone. No clotted cream or jam going anywhere near that. Come to Cornwall or Devon and have a proper warm homemade scone right by the sea. Also, don’t get them confused with the American “biscuit”.

Justin is so cute. He reminds me of my older dog Billy. He hears packaging crinkling and immediately wants a treat. He has his own dog treats and the treat bag makes a nice crinkle sound. So, I think he makes that kind of connection. Crinkle = Treat. At least my dog does. Billy also yips a bit if you don't pay him much attention. It might be Justin's way of getting your attention. Maybe. But, any way... I love how he comes and joins you during your filming sessions. I think it is adorable.

I was laughing throughout the video because of Justin haha :P So cute and funny the way he paws at you for attention. I'm a Dog Groomer in the UK and you're doing the right thing by ignoring his behaviour, I would recommend doing some clicker training with him too. Have him sit still when you're eating and encourage it by using a clicker and treats.

Sure we all love Justin, no one said it's annoying how he behave. But he is stressed out tjats not good for an elderly dog. Around 10:00 alot of people think that's soooo cute, but hes stressed by beging and not getting rewarded. He even "scratches" Shinichi with his paw for maximal attention.

My dog does the same thing Shinichi. She is like a little kid. When Mom used to get on the old school phones, my kids would always start acting up. I guess they wanted my undivided attention lol. Now my dog acts out when I get on a Zoom call. Justin just wants ur undivided attention. My scones are moist, dense and slightly sweet.

I Shinichi~ I was wondering~~ am I correct in thinking that you said you changed Justin's food recently? If that is the case, I wonder if it has enough protein in it to keep him full during the day... I have noticed that recently he has been a lot more vocal while you and Satoshi are eating, and that is something he never used to do. It almost seems like he is hungry all the time. Please don't think I am trying to accuse you of not feeding Justin, he is one of the most well cared for dogs I can think of, but the reason I think this is because I changed my cat's food and didn't realize it was not working for her and she was always hungry and begging. Thank you for your awesome video, keep up the good work.

About those scones, There's a bakery in the Los Angeles area where I grew up. The bakery is family owned by an Asian family. My family has been going there since I was a kid and I used to go a lot in high school. That bakery makes scones that looks similar in texture but are way bigger. I hadn't been in the bakery in a few years (trying to be healthier) so back in 2018 I went in and ordered a scone (I used to get them all the time in high school because they were delicious). Of course she remembered me (and my love of her scones) so she gave me the background on why she makes them that way and was kind enough to give me her recipe (which is far to complicated for me to make). Here's the TLDR part: So her family had been making scones that way for generations they adapted the traditional scone to better suit their tastes added a few extra steps and made them so they weren't so dry like traditional scones. I didn't really think much about it back then because that kind of thing is common (Think along the lines of Taco Bell for Mexican food). However, I wonder now if maybe that type of scone is more common that I thought. More like a fusion scone? I always found scones to be too dry so when I 1st saw this type in her bakery I didn't even know what it was called I just wanted to try it. They are fluffy and moist so I never really thought of them in the traditional way as scones. Her scones and the scones you had from 7-11 are the only scones I've seen that look that way. I really wonder if they're more common than I thought.

Justin barks when he hears you talking. He just wants all your attention not the food. You might try putting him in another room close the door & turn on the TV this will drown out your voice. Even a radio on might help. Our dog never barked until we started talking. She is a Chihuahua we have trained her to be quiet when we are talking by turning on a TV. Now we don't even shut the door she just goes to sleep with the TV on.. She is 4 & our other dog a pomeranian lived to be 12 & he did the same. So this worked for us.

Nah he wants the food. Look at 10:00 how he's focused on that pie, scratches Shinichi, don't gif a.f. if Shinichi will look at him and still staring at the food. Licking his mouth, ready to eat,... I know it's hard but even our animals love us, they will never leave us, they do act mostly like this because of food.

Konbini bakery products are always soft, and to my European "training" that felt really weird - but then, they're all pre-packaged and no konbini has fresh baked goods ever. They're in their own league and takes a bit to get used to, but they can trip you over if from the looks you expect something different (like how Shinichi said about the lack of pastry flakiness or butteriness with the strawberry one). But they're usually moist and pleasant, so definitely worth checking them out when one visits the country. For fresh, potentially crispy products you'll have to go to a bakery, and they can be quite pricey, but Japanese bakeries have some exeptional products well worth the money.

I am a big fan of that brownie! And it's not a blondie, it's a brownie with blond chocolate (the chocolate is that outside shell layer, and there is a thin caramel layer between the chocolate shell and the top of the brownie). Sure it's not a dense, chewy brownie, but the cake part is very rich and moist and delicious. I've eaten three of them since they started selling them, and I may be hooked. Yum!

Thanks for the video, I remember trying a melon pan from 711 and it was quite dry with those small crumbs (AND it didn't taste of melons! Joking). That's something that is noticeably different from pre-packaged baked goods here in Australia, there's more oil or fat in the dough and you don't get that dryness. Some supermarket bread rolls go dry pretty quickly though. Some or their breads are pre-baked in the UK, frozen and shipped over to here to finsh the baking. Talk about food miles.

As soon as you start filming, Justin hears you speaking as if to someone that is in the room with you, but he can't see anyone. I think that's making him anxious and that's why he's barking, just to make sure that the person you're talking to knows he's there and that it is his territory. Edit: I don't know if it's possible for Satoshi to sit the other side of the camera, just to test the theory - If Justin is quiet when he thinks you're just talking to Satoshi, we know the barking is only when you seem to be talking to someone that he can't perceive. Alternatively, maybe dress up a mannequin to sit behind the camera and see if that helps!! 😜 [Except that he'd probably bark at the mannequin!]

I hope I don't sound mean but Justin is begging because you end up feeding him stuff. So you basically created this behaviour yourselves. Even the barking is probably because he knows that when you start filming there is going to be food. I'm just explaining, I don't judge or anything :) I love all the convenience store videos you guys are putting up these days!

Justin started barking now when you touched the packages of teh bread. I think he knows that you have bread then. And indeed it can be that a dog starts barking more as he gets older. Srill he is adorable :D My favourite bread would be the sausage bread. nothing can beat that (from most bakeries btw hahaha). But I don't really eat much bread. Only for Saya and Eric i usually buy breads.

There's a possibility that some of your filming equipment emits sound in a frequency of more than 20kHz. Humans can only hear up to that, but dogs can hear up to 45kHz. It would be the equivalent of having a dog whistle, Justin can hear it, but you can't.
