Le Male Lover is the brand new release from Jean Paul Gaultier. I picked it up in Duty Free a couple of days ago and I have a few thoughts I'd like to share. Is this the best mens fragrance of the year or just a heartbreaker?

The fragrance might've disappointed, but the setting behind that deck definitely doesn't. This is why I've been struggling with designer so much lately. Elixir being one of few outliers, this has been pretty common...for my nose anyway. Great review. Love the location.

This one is amazing for me. Smelt it at duty free and instantly bought it. Performance is almost beast mode for me I get over 12 hours of longevity on my skin

I really enjoy this one. It is not so loud like other fragrances from JPG. I wish the first 30 min of the scent profile would last longer, the salty/ aquatic part. The vanilla at the Drydown reminds me of Le Parfum, but not so strong. It’s a nice everyday fragrance. I’m looking forward when it ages and changes by time.

It lasted until the next day for me, but each person is different, I suppose, more as a skin scent to be fair but was still on my hand 15 hours after spraying and a shower

I bought it directly from the JPG website. Havent opened it. I'll be returning it. A lot of people say the performance is poor. I'm not taking a chance.

Tks great Video, I just the tested the new JPG Paradise Garden - the same disappointment some sweetness which disappears very soon, without the Le Male its nothing for me. Elixir and Le Beau is great - so I wish companies would go more in a risk! And yeah a real new Aquatic Le Male I would buy... Have a nice day, Chris from Berlin

Great review, Chris! I think your voice and general demeanor where giving away from very early that you felt quite frustrated and disappointed about this one. I have not yet smelled it, feeling curious about it because of the possible resemblance to Gucci Elixir, but slightly less hopeful after your impressions.

Such a shame. I was really looking forward to this one especially because of the aquatic aspect mixed with the og Le Male dna, thought it could’ve been a new summer signature for me. Also love the bottle and the packaging, I’ll still try it on store if I manage to find one

Such a shame they pushed this one out. Felt the same about Green Stravaganza by Valentino ( which I now actually like weirdly enough ). Not remotely smelling like the DNA of a line, gutting , less is more.

It's a Fancy Bottle , is it even Close to Dú Male the White Bottle Was Lite White Florals I Won one a long time ago on EBay and tried it It was Weak My Girl said get another She went through the first bottle in maybe 5 months 4 Oz👀 ? And I got another @ Like $32

You know the only reason you don't like it as much is you like those darker scents. Others have said they thinks is a banger. Guess it will have to be left up to ourselves to make that decision.

Some of my all-time favourites are lighter, fresher scents. Your theory is incorrect. You are however correct in concluding that each person should make their own decision. I’ve always assumed that goes without saying.

Gucci Guilty Elixer is pure garbage. My wife made me scrub it off, I was going to anyway, it’s terrible. The opening smells like Reflection man, then it dries down to a floral mess that they tried to put some earthy notes in there and it just doesn’t work. This one sounds pretty bad too.
