Perspective change: 1) Jeff is a grown man who made the decision to get on the excavator. It wasn't an elaborate prank to injure his friend. That will forever fall on him. 2) Jeff was an anger management, slick drug dealer well into knowing Vlog Squad. Imagine having someone like him around feeling that you're responsible for permanently damaging their eye. He constantly "joked" about taking other people's eyes and murdering them in their sleep. The resentment was massive and I can only imagine it made everyone feel cold towards him. 3) David offered to pay for all of his surgeries and all expenses and JEFF refused them. You don't get to decide who's telling the truth on that, especially not taking the word of a pathological lying drug dealer. 4) Just because Jeff was in an accident doesn't make him a genuine, good human being.
