"not made of money" *looks at garden* hmmmm Love garden railways though I'm more a 16mm man. There's something so appealing about seeing a little live steam narrow gauge engine winding round a garden with a rake of slate wagons rattling behind

Timelapses instead of cuts is really good for viewing. Especially for someone like me that stumbles in here by random "you may like this" and like the concept, but jumps forward as the cutting makes that anyway. And then maybe a voice-over during those timelapses to show what's happening, like "the digging was a pain but needed and get sure no curves are less radius than xx".
@NewJunction4 жыл бұрын
I normally do that however in this instance the build didnt happen quickly enough so wasnt an option to film.

Beautifully done! Be prepared for a constant battle with the plants, animals and the influence of the weather. My layout lasted 15 years, I finally gave in being tired of getting the trains going again after winter. And those trees dripping resin or whatever it is called. I had several in my garden, it made the trains stop after short while. Even the track cleaning loco wasn't able to tackle that problem. So it takes some careful planning and there are plants and trees that definately will spoil the fun! Kind regards, Willem from Holland.

That's a great video Richard, to me you have captured the idea of a garden railway, ie that's going around the established trees and shrubs instead of cutting them down and keeping the line straight, it's also good to build tunnels to go through high ground just like the real thing. It is certainly a railway as a part of the garden instead of just an outdoor layout, thank you for sharing this and I look forward to seeing your progress, take care, Paul.

Great video Richard, I love how youve got the height round the garden. I'd make the bit where it goes really close to the soil into some kind of cutting, maybe rock moulds out of concrete type mix? and the higher bit at the end turn it into a massive girder bridge, still able to keep it with the bitchumen layer but make the outside look like an awesome bridge. Alex
