$200 a steep for a pyrite, even in this config. Same price as an Ekko with ti/fat carbon mars valley w/s90v ? Ti Ekko with AR-RPM only $80, so they are asking for $120 upcharge for a little S90V over AR-RPM?? Maybe i’m off base, but it doesn’t seem to add up. And I LOVE the pyrite.

The pyrite LW are not as light as you would think. That's because the steel liners have no weight reduction. Easy fix is to take it apart and drill 1/2 holes, four holes going up the liners.

It is in fact called a Detent. It may not be a ball detent but it is a detent. de·tent noun a catch in a machine which prevents motion until released. "a system of detents is used to ensure that gears are held in whatever position is selected"

Probably won't be buying anything from cjrb for awhile. Bought a "perfect pyrite project" model.... s90v blade, contoured titanium handle with fat carbon inserts....Absolute crap fit and finish. Inserts don't even come close to laying flush and thats after an hour with a dremel removing burrs from the screw holes that were keeping the insert from being able to be tightened down properly. The button lock also has horrible lock stick both in the open AND closed positions, makes using the thumbhole impossible at random times. If it was their budget model, I wouldn't be as upset but when I'm paying almost WE knife money I'd like to be able to use my knife without having to fix their screwups

I’ve acquired 3 Pyrites and the Bowie is my favorite! Very unique compared to the other new releases out there. Not so sure about the Pyrite Light though. The new bowie Pyrite looks very nice

I would definitely cut myself using the knap lol... I hope CJRB comes out with a Frack the size of the Pyrite. I also wish they would use a liner lock or back lock over the button lock. Seems like if a lock is going to fail, it would be a button lock. Great content as usual!

I feel like adequate access to the liner lock, no texturing under the pocket clips and recessed pocket clips with countersunk screws should be universal at this point. Every reviewer points it out so if knife companies haven’t gotten it by now maybe they just don’t care. Also, I’m already over this FRN phase. FRN sucks. It’s cheap and flimsy and it feels cheap and flimsy. It is light though so they are trying to promote it as their new “Lite” version because it’s super cheap. Yuck! I hope it dies off quickly.
