NEW LEGO LORD OF THE RINGS 2025 SETS? Set ideas - MINAS TIRITH / GONDOR BATTLE PACK

In this clip taken from my latest livestream I discuss what lego should do regarding the lord of the rings theme and wether they will release more lego sets in early 2025, shortly after the new lotr movie the war of the rohirrim.
My ideas included sets such as a giant minas tirith set, 2 battle packs (Gondor soldiers & orc soldiers), grond ( the wolfed battering ram) and a oliphant set including harad soldiers and a Rohan soldier on horseback.
January 1st 2025 would be the perfect time to release a new wave of sets for the lego lord of the rings theme, as it would be released only a month after the new lotr movie is released.

Lego should release LOTR cmf series. A cheap way to get all main LOTR minifigures

Need the prancing pony. They can make a variety of different types of horses. The lotro game has so many stead options.

I do hope they'll make minas tirith And yes i would buy loads of the Gondorian soldiers. Though ill need to get plenty yellow heads and hands alongside them though ....

Personally, I prefer to only get battle packs and/or small play sets. As long as I can manage to get the minifigures, I could always build a big MOC of any location I wanted to see in LEGO form.

Lord of the Rings is coming back. I don’t know if it’s going to be a full fledged theme with battlepacks, but more sets are coming BEYOND Barad-dur. Just be patient :)

I personally like the big D2C $500 sets as the buildings/scenes in LOTR are so iconic and huge and just architectural complex then anything under these prices would be insulting

Great job Minifigz! Lego, listen to his ideas! Battle packs would fly off the shelves! A $650 Gondor is a great idea! I would even up it to $800. I also think the Oliphant set would be amazing! BRING BACK LORD OF THE RINGS!

@@Josiah_LOTR I would have to disagree. Micro scale, $200. Minifig scale worked with rivendell, but it just couldn't with minas tirith

I think 800 would be pushing it, you could still get a fantastic set for 650

Imo what lego is doing is unreasonable. 500-450 euro priced sets are out of the question for me. It's really disappointing that Dune can get a set for 150 and there is nothing outside of the brickheads in that price range.

Rivendel costs around 500$ and got 21 minifigures, and Minas Tirith which costs around $650 would only have 11 minifigures? WTF dude? At this price and scale, MT must be at least 30 minis.

Lord of the Rings has potential as a way to revive the castle theme, which there's obviously tons of demand for. I wish it received the current Harry Potter treatment, as in several waves per year of sets that are modular and give customers the reason to come back for more. Like if they made a remake of the siege of Helm's Deep and offered castle expansions and battle packs alongside it - I'm sure there would be no lack of people putting together an army of Rohirrim or Uruk-Hai. However, as it stands you need to be a massive LotR fan to justify blowing $500 on those standalone and disjointed sets.

What I wonder is how much say New Line Cinema, The Tolkien estate, and any other rights holders have. We know for instance that Disney has a lot of influence over what sets Lego can and can't make with their licenses. It is entirely possible that it isn't that Lego doesn't want to make LOTR sets. But instead, someone or something else is restricting what they can make.

@@Minifigz Sure it would. Lego asked the license holders if they could make sets and got a yes for specific sets. But not a yes for an entire line. Contractual agreements can have plenty of restrictions depending on what the rights holders want. It is the same sort of nonsense that prevents Lego from making a Star Wars CMF series. Hasbro has the exclusive rights to Star Wars action figures. Lego has the rights to building toys. So, Lego can make minifigures with sets, but can't just make minifigures. Even though Lego knows a Stormtrooper or Clone Trooper CMF would sell in the millions.

@@koloth5139 yeah you could be right. I have a source that says more lord of the rings sets are on the way. beyond the Legolas bricked later this year, whether it turns out to be a full line of sets is anyones guess

I don’t know but it seems like Lego is stalling as long as possible gatekeeping the sets behind the $460+ paywall for most general consumers until they run out of huge buildings because people wil buy it regardless and then maybe launch a full wave back Not sure how you only have 2 minifigure sets priced at over $460 when everyone wants lord of the rings now more than ever.
