Welcome my friends, to another quaint adventure.
Today we venture our butt into Lost Alpha. Been on the list for a while, and it's finally time.
Just side note, this was a live recording so it may be a little odd here and there. But we'll continue the series as per usual in the upcoming episodes

In orginal lost alpha there's is no Boris in this game He is added by Delevopers Cut version

Replaying Lost Alpha right now and the new and edited maps make huge difference from the old vanilla levels from 15 years ago that Anomaly uses.

@@quan-uo5ws to be fair, if you want to play lost alpha maps without the lost alpha story, Dark Path is a mod based on lost alpha maps with a wholly new story

great work also some news the team who made lost alpha DEZAWAVE shared some news on the development of stalker 2 old concept for whos' who don't know this is a project the team has been working on since 2019 and well as you can guess this project is about bringing back the 2011 version of stalker 2 that got canned. and well that included bringing back the X-RAY 2.0 engine what stalker 2 (2011) was going to use. from that they have shared they have managed to completely transfer all of the code of the engine to the environment visual studio in 2019 and then the visual studio in 2022. with that done it made development much more simplified and allowed new character's animation as well other such things do be added. right know a lot stuff is being worked from fascial animation's, environmental objects, vegetation, character models, buildings and locations. they plan on heaving the map be around 6Kms. they already have the basic terrain done and know work is underway things like the plot and making the world feel alive

I never understand op-2 players, whats the fun in having to stick to reading a guide the whole time..solyanka is still fun tho

@@pacmandapackman3087 after a certain point you get used to the brainfucking and stop needing a guide, and to be fair it's remarkably difficult to softlock yourself compared to other soup mods (cough cough dmx, reborn, ns2010)

That's weird. I think there's supposed to be english voice lines. Mod has a lot of these cutscenes and you can miss the plot without understanding them. Also there will be a lot of walking, so prepare for it by looking for or buying a vehicle or use guieds. Don't shoot first even if NPC's are hostile to you, that may make the walkthrough in later parts much harder. Use points to upgrade your perks, but choose wisely, because game gives you limited ammount of points so can't fully upgrade yourself. And try to grab every mission(don't confuse with cyclical quests), they are very interesting and expending the lore. And finally, often check your PDA, some data in additional section of misson reviewer and encyclopedia. P.S. please turn the ambient music on, every location has a unique pieces of music on them that fits the atmosphere of the place.(like difference between starting Cordon with mostly calm ambient and Radar, the ambient in Shadow of Chernobyl really captures the sence of constant anxiety with sounds immitating the strong psy-field, or Lake Yantar, dreadful misty place with sudden shift horror that awakes for moment and falls to sleep again). Anyway, good luck with the game!

I recommend you go for the autumn texture mod; that has a nice atmosphere and look to it. You find it in the mod list in the launcher.

I had to select that on install. Going to the mod menu now crashes the launcher 🙃

@@WaveysGamingAdventure Theres two ways, because of the crash I used the other way. The other way is complex, I could send you a download link of the mod, maybe in discord. I can give details for installation With the other step you reinstall the game in another folder, then take the mod from the mod folder: but you have to do replace/fix files because everything was connected. I cheesed it somehow and got it working a while ago.

Wavey, if you have lost alpha's launcher you can disable russian localization. And Sidorovich, barman will talk to you english like a normal

Yeah, I turned up the brightness in the game. It's unfair how dark is it. And they intentionally made everything much darker than what would have been necessarily.

It looks like you have night vision goggles equipped in your inventory screen - why not turn them on instead of boosting the gamma all the way up?

Is this mod worth playing? I remember playing the first version of Lost Alpha, and it was pretty "empty" especially the later maps. Love the visual though.

Empty? Hmm havent been empty for me one bit. Mutants all over the place, stalkers running around There is an A-Life mod included with the current version that I suspect influences this

Haha which version of lost alpha you playing on? There's a secret ending but it doesn't make much sense on the latest update as the majority of the secret endings content was cutout.

Supposed to be that last version 1.07 or something I couldn’t get any of the more recent additional pieces to work
