Horn loading ribbons is a good idea to focus energy that would normally dissipate. Years ago, VMPS audio started doing that with their flagship ribbons and it was a profound improvement for presence.

Sounds like you kind of like those speakers. I will admit that I'm attracted to speakers with copper accents. That's why I love the look of my Klipsch speakers.

recently i bought my first speakers equipped with ribbon tweeters, and the experience has me curious about electrostats and all the other fancy transducer designs. i feel like i'd been hearing only _most_ of my music for the last dozen years or so

Interesting review, I will keep these in mind, there is a pair locally for sale.I have sub which everyone should have no matter how good your speakers are, it makes a huge difference when set up properly.

I have a white pair on buchardt stands. Sexy as hell. They are growing on me. I had to toe them out and still plan on getting a minidsp to integrate with my sub. they are a nice contrast to my warmer soeakers. Nice to have flavors. What amp was your favorite pairing? I have a technics sug700. The combo is straight fireworks. A little too much for me. I am now looking at the new kinki amp, the Chocosound! Technics will stay with the lintons🤘

The Buchardt is more my style, smooth, and tame in the midrange. These are more for folks who like a brighter midrange.

Just so many great choices out there. It's an OCD person's NIGHTMARE!🤔🤫😳 Great review. Ill stick to my JBL 590's with two 550p subs. Denon 3801, a tank of an AVR. I kid you not, my system sounds considerably better than the two ultra high end systems at a Best Buy designer Flagship store I just went to.🤑 My wife was with me and also was amazed. Both systems sounded like we had cotton in our ears compared to my system. Muddy Bass at lets see what these systems can do level?🙄 Even played tracks that we use at home like Adel "Hello." James Blunt "Monsters". I have to think the employees there had no idea how to set up a Rig? Im talking B&W 801D's with two giant Macintosh amp type of systems. 🤯 Streaming. Treated rooms and everything? Saw these Matin Logans in the lower level room. Looked elegamt for the money. We both left knowing $80,000 sound sometimes isnt what it seems.🙄 And all the research I've done over the years has helped me achieve nirvana for both of us." Thanks Z reviews!" 🤔🤓 We went home and played those very same tracks on our very modest system. Our Fantastic room dymanics I suppose doesnt hurt!🤔🤫😉😎

That does tend to happen. I'm glad you found your home system superior. It's always a good feeling knowing you have something you absolutely love to listen to.

The room, speaker placement, and the listening position affect bass quality way too much for you to even consider blaming the speakers in their setup. Boomy bass could be the fault of uneven freq response caused by room modes, also bass decay time heavily affects one's perception. Powerful speakers and some unluckiness in room mode could boost a certain chunk of the low frequency by 20db. The decay time at a certain low frequency could easily be close to 2 seconds in a room for the tone to disappear. I just wouldn't jump to any conclusion other than they didn't do a good setup. The rest is inconclusive unless you put them into your room.

@@BobFrostV That was our conclusion. Horrible settings or something..🙄 But 3 systems? As I said without being silly, even my wife noticed it within 5 seconds. She Likes music but can care less about the overall sound quality but she knows good music when she hears it. Excited as I was when we both first sat down, I asked the price snd said to my wife, "let's see if these systems blow our system away." They sure looked very impressive. Believe me my wife was nervous before listening and said "if it's that much better , well see kind of thing." Those 801's are built like a Bently for sure! Should be for that much money. I can't imagine a more optimum set up. Bass traps snd everything. It's not one of their low end rooms with 10 speakers set back in a row. They had that in the Next Room. It's literally a separate room showcasing top of the line panel speakers and the Diamond line of B&W. Giant Sub that I had them turn off which did help alittle. First thing after the amazement of how bland these systems sounded was how great it might sound in my room.🤔🤫🤪😎

Just what I want a speaker to do: punch me in the face. is there a model that kicks me in the nuts also?? I had some Motion series Martin Logan's in house about a year ago. Not bad. Nothing remotely close to what I have now, but not bad. Better than the average fare speaker wise.
