Well Denise. We did not even think about that. Veronica loves the cornbread but she had the new French toast so I don’t think she thought about the cornbread. I wanted the biscuits so I was happy. I hope they did not take away the cornbread. The last time we ate there was in January and they had cornbread then. Thank you for watching our video and sharing your experience with us.

They never had cornbread, they always have had cornbread muffins and, they aren’t sweet, which, you still can get with any order if you want! And, if you go online and, look at their menu, cornbread muffins are still a option, just because, someone orders buttermilk biscuits, that doesn’t mean that the other option is still available, someone just picked something they preferred!

Went to cracker barrel for lunch a few days ago. It has always been good and consistent. Not anymore. Green beans were always a favorite, they changed the recipe. No bacon flavoring. Was so disappointing. Then ate the hash brown casserole. Dang if they didn’t change that too. The only thing they didn’t ruin was the catfish. But I could not tell if it was Changed. The breading seemed different but wasn’t noticeable. I had heard they were having money issues . If they think they will fix it by changing the comfort foods we look for the future is not looking good. Stick with what works and go back to tried and true.

We could not agree with you more about this issue. We still enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel but it is not anywhere close to how good it was in the 1990s. I think they went wrong trying to have a so called healthy menu catering to California. That is our opinion. Stick to comfort food that made Cracker Barrel famous stop trying to please everyone. When we travel we always stop to eat at Cracker Barrel ...you can depend on them being consistent, never had a bad meal.....that being said our local Cracker Barrel is not good. We have had several bad meals...hard pork chops, and my Chicken and Dumplings was just awful , no gravy, dry dumplings I only ate half, took the rest home and just threw is out! Great video I will have to try the french toast when we go on vacation.

For sure all Cracker Barrel’s are not created equal. Some are much better than others. Here where we live in Tennessee for the most part they have been good maybe not great but good. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience.

If something about your meal isn't right, speak up. Let your server know, and if they brush you off, get the manager. Legit complaints should be addressed.

@@diannelavoie5385 you are right, I should have spoken up… it was way past dinner time, it took much longer for the server to even take our order and much longer to get out meals which are some of their classics I was just totally done with the experience.

@@diannelavoie5385 that is what we did with the French toast coming out with out the berries. The eggs not over easy was not a big deal. If the steak would have come out over done that is when I would have asked for a new steak but it was cooked to perfection.

I ❤ the way yall express your feelings toward Cracker Barrel how would feel going to work at CB nearly '7 days a week making sure the restaurant and food menu is in order planning what to keep and let go. My son has been a great access w/CB I pray that they a have grown to love him because he definitely loves this position over the yrs. Having a position as a General M of Cracker Barrel I thank the company for bringing him aboard only 31yr-o , Out of all the jobs I must say he takes comments from the heart and they most definitely train all the employees. I never dreamed that he would be such a charming man with the diners home town meals. Spfld, IL.

For many years during the 1990s CB was our favorite restaurant no question about it. We would eat there sometimes 3 times a week. My wife and I were working a lot of overtime and second jobs so it was easier to just go out to eat. CB has a special place in our hearts so we do want to see it stay in business. We moved to California in the early 2000 and there was no CBs there until about 2018 or so. The ones in California were just not that good unfortunately. We were very happy to have moved back East where CBs are much better in Indiana and now Tennessee. Thank you for watching our video and sharing your story.

Cracker Barrel shot it's self in the foot when they got rid of the onion rings the old style chicken BLT chicken and rice and French salad dressing. Worst move sloping maple jam over everything. Serving alcohol was the last straw. We ditched CB about 2 years ago.

We are happy you were able to eat at a Cracker Barrel. Back in the 90s in northern Indiana Cracker Barrel was our favorite restaurant. Sunday morning here at the Jersey shore, just back from breakfasting at my favorite go to small eatery. The two new menu specials are almost identical to the weekend specials here. Sunday morning for me is French toast with strawberries, blueberries and granola! Real maple syrup and as much coffee as I can fit!

I ate at Cracker Barrel yesterday, and I swear, everything I was served had been pre-cooked, frozen, and reheated. Hard little biscuits, bland gravy with almost no sausage, and sausage patties that were hard as rocks.

@@terry94131 Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I know it can be hit or miss lately at Cracker Barrel and some stores are better than others. We do wish they would get back to the old way of cooking everything in house. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Sorry it was not good.

Years ago when Cracker Barrel first opened, they always had biscuits and gravy before your meal came. It became a dealbreaker because families would ask for more gravy and then they needed to go boxes because your belly was full before your meal came. A BTW, they gave the free biscuits and gravy ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Oh the good old days!!!! 😂

Yes the good old days of Cracker Barrel. We started eating at CB in the 1990s in Elkhart, IN. I don’t remember if they still gave the biscuit gravy but they always gave ether biscuits or cornbread all day.

We love Cracker Barrel. The funny thing is we are both native Californians. There are no Cracker Barrel’s in California (or weren’t at the time). We each moved to Arizona separately and now live less than a mile from the closest Cracker Barrel but we have 3 within a few miles of each other. We used to go often but having it so handy, we find ourselves not going as often as we would have imagined. I am craving the baked French Toast and I bet my husband would love the steak and eggs. We need to make a plan to go soon. In years past, we have enjoyed their Thanksgiving Feast. It’s delicious and ample (and worth the 2 hour wait). I’m really craving Cracker Barrel now. I really enjoyed this virtual meal.

Good video! Just discovered your channel in my feed. I used to love Cracker Barrel, but their prices are pretty high. Plus, it’s not the same as when it was the original owners. I do agree that they have the best pancakes, and the hash brown casserole is so yum…I usually ask for it to be grilled. The general store part is a draw for me….you never know what unique things you might find. Finally, thanks for your service. Even in peacetime, it helps knowing that we have men willing to protect our freedoms. 🇺🇸

First Cracker Barrel experience was Sweetwater Tn. early 1975 and we were hooked . Since that time we have visited at least 50 restaurants over many states . Complete satisfaction until several years ago when service and food quality started to slip and has been downhill ever since . I heard the CEO had plans to change menu items . Let me be clear the menu and service were what originally drew us to Cracker Barrel and kept us coming back now the only reason we patronize the locations is my wife is totally infatuated with the gift shop but that may also shortly come to an end because of pricing

Yes we feel your pain. All through the 1990s and early 2000s we loved Cracker Barrel. They opened a new restaurant in Elkhart, Indiana at that time. Never had a bad meal. We moved to California in 2002 and did not eat at a CB for a long time. California finally got a CB around 2016 or so in Sacramento CA. It was not good. Moved back to Indiana in 2022 then on into Tennessee now and the CB is much better than California CBs but not fantastic. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.

I agree that Cracker Barrel has the best pancakes. I love their maple syrup in the little bottles. I ask the waitress for a couple extra bottles to take home. Just yesterday I went online to see the new menu. That steak looks like something to try.

Last time I went to CB was 2 years ago, had a $25 gift card. Bfast for 2, each had 1 biscuit, 2 pieces of bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, 1 sm oj, 1 glass of milk, 1 cup of coffee, no free refills. The gift card did not cover this and there was a tip added on, over $30 for 2 bfast. Never will be back until the food quality, quantity goes back where it was and prices go down back where they used to be.

I don’t believe no tip was added on, a tip is something that isn’t forced on you, unless a restaurant has sign out on their menu in fine print, more than likely you were just charged what your card didn’t have enough to cover! Another thing gift cards don’t cover tips, I don’t know what gave you that idea and, no, gift cards don’t say that! Breakfast covering 2 people for $25 and, paying a extra $5 out in cash and, your complaining about that wow, and, it sounds though you never did pay out for a tip! I also don’t believe that their food was that awful! Your more made about paying out $5 and, the gift card didn’t cover refills, which anything you drink there comes with free refills, so, I don’t believe that neither, unless your waitress didn’t honor that!

No CB in Southeastern Massachusetts. We go to the one in Wrentham, MA, or in RI near the CT line depending on our direction of travel. Always good. And then there's the store. Never can get out of there without spending money. 😁

We started eating at Cracker Barrel in Elkhart, Indiana back in the 90s and back then it was the best restaurant chain in our opinion. It really was good food never had a bad experience. I don’t know what happened but it is not as good today as it was. We still enjoy going to Cracker Barrel but we do wish it would go back to making great food again. Restaurants in general are not as good as they were years ago. I don’t know it is an age thing or most restaurants make food now like a fast food restaurant. I’m wondering about Cracker Barrel’s long term viability. Here in Northeast Ohio the local restaurant had a one hour wait for seating. Once seated the dining room was half empty. We ordered and after a one hour wait and still no food we left. Others stayed. We think CB has the best breakfast and pancakes.

It can be that way today unfortunately a lot has changed in the last 10 years with a lot of restaurants. It seems restaurants today don’t have enough staff to service all the tables in the restaurant.

Here in oahu hawaii down Kalihi town there is this pancake house which its called, they make all kinds of breakfast, and especially pancakes, they make this 49INER pancakes which is thin and ooey gooey, SOOOOOOOOOOO Onolicious, seriously, and there bacon is super good, customer services is EXCELLENT!!! Hope you all can fly to oahu and check out Pancake House in kalihi area, its soooooo cozy like your cracker barrells the atmosphere looks like cracker barrel at our Pancake house!!!

Cracker Barrel is good for breakfast but not the canned vegetables. Mashed potatoes always dry, idf you go after lunch say mid afternoon the food has been sitting for hours

In this case it was 7 am the restaurant just opened and it was a Friday. There are 3 more Cracker Barrel restaurants close by here in this part of Tennessee. So we were lucky on this day to get a table right away. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

I started eating at C B in 1970. When traveling I always ate breakfast at C B . Tipton Ga. had the best biscuits and the south always had the best ham. Since 2010 I think their guality has gone down hill. Very cheap ham, fatty sausage the hash brown casserole was terrible. I hope they improve I have had I know more than 100 sunrise samplers.

Loved Cracker Barrel, but quit going when they started making the mashed potatoes with water instead of milk. Take home meals the mashed potatoes were hard as rocks, uneatable.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We have said it seems that restaurants that once were great now seem to take fast food short cuts when preparing meals. Example Olive Garden every thing was fresh they made the pasta in front of you in the lobby back in the 1980s now everything tastes like it was frozen and reheated. Cracker Barrel is probably doing the same thing.

Thank you for your comment. The reason I wear my hat at the table in cold restaurant is I almost died a few years ago with Covid. I spent a long time in the hospital. I did not know if I was ever going to see Veronica again. With the grace of God I did recover and was able to go home to my wife. Now I am cold all the time and I wear my hat at the table like most men these days so I don’t get sick again from being in a cold restaurant. Plus I don’t have hair and my head gets cold easily these days. Now growing up at home we never would wear a hat at the table in our home so I get the fact that it could be bad manners. During my time in the Marines we would not wear our covers (hats) indoors. Thank you for watching our video and sharing your thoughts.

Last time I was at Cracker Barrel I was not happy...I had the biscuits and gravy I agree the gravy needs work and was cold as if it came out of the refrigerator....Not really happy with the entire meal. Will not return..

Sorry you had a bad experience. Unfortunately I know it can happen. We have been to restaurants that other people think are great but we have had bad experiences.

Worse meal, chicken pot pie had a chicken bone. I showed the server she rolled it up in the napkin. Manager came to us and apologized said we could have a free desert, he didn’t get it done. This was in Georgia.

I had chicken pot pie that contained some tiny bits of chicken, one green bean, several peas and several carrots. Mostly greasy gravy. Also it was 12:30 and they were out of cornbread. Worst meal I've had there.

Haven’t been to Cracker Barrel in several months. Don’t like their breakfast sausage. The country gravy is lacking something. Also the lighting is very poor. I feel the need to bring a flash light to read the menu. Wouldn’t mind trying the French toast bake if it only came with blueberries.Not a fan of strawberries.

We have only stopped at a cracer barrel once a few years ago while traveling and NEVER AGAIN! Our Salad was brought to us as we had already received and were on our way to the cashier to pay the check. Also neither of our meals were good . I'm glad there are none in California.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. The Cracker Barrel’s that are in California now are not that good. One in Sacramento and one in Rocklin in Northern California. The ones in Tennessee are much better at least that is our experience. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience.

Crackerbarrel went way down in quality. First time i ate their in the 90s it was the best food ever then the last 2 times i ate there last year it was the worst food ever . I'll never eat there again.

There was a time when we could not afford a steak breakfast or any food from a restaurant. We have been married for 38 years now and there were times when we would scrape together enough change to get a .25 cent hamburger back when you could get a burger for.25 cents. God has been good to us here in our older age after working a lot of two jobs apiece and paying off most of our debt and not taking vacations and that for a long time. Today we are blessed to be able to get a nice meal once in a while. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

We did take leftovers home and ate two more meals out of what we ordered. We like to make it stretch because it is expensive to eat out.

@@stevekibler That's great. Not everyone makes bad financial decisions. You deserve everything you worked hard for. My husband and I could go out for a steak dinner or breakfast. We opted to have no children, both work hard, paid out of OUR pocket for college and Grad school. Parents never paid for us. Worked many holidays and late shifts. ENJOY YOUR LIFE. And, I'm not a paycheck from being homeless that everyone posts about.

Their prices are still more affordable and reasonably priced than most restaurants, their prices aren’t as high you seem to think! You think someone eating out is a bad financial decision? Lol If one can afford it, it’s not a bad financial situation, you only live once and, if you think getting out and enjoying yourself once in awhile that’s on you, not everyone else!

I love how we complain about my eggs over medium instead of over easy, 30 seconds over cooked. My gravy is too thick. If you can do better, than cook it yourself. People can't read your mind. Cooking is an art not exact science. We should be grateful we live in a country with so many choices.

Cracker Barrel gravy? Has to be the worst gravy ever! No self respecting southerner would ever serve that. Wallpaper paste would be an improvement. I like Cracker Barrel, but the gravy? I won’t even let them bring it to the table.

I didn't see any sausage in it. Usually a Southern white gravy has meat in it, just saying. BUT, if you enjoyed it, that's all that matters.
