Talking about the batteries is a good thing I didn't know that about the 10

Hello, everyone I just saw your video and I think it's very nice. I'm from Germany and I have to tell you that the battery on Metabo devices can be easily replaced. You press the button with the heel of the hand in which you hold the device and push the battery forward with the other hand. Very easily. Greetings from Germany.

I didn't check all the comments, but the small one does have a button on the side that allows multiple shoe adjustments in depth to complete removal of the shoe, giving full access to the blade. If you still have them, as a test can you mark some uni-strut square and see if you can cut it squarely, rest the shoe on the front corner over the mark with the blade pointing at an upward angle, guiding down the vertical side mark and across the top mark, this should trap and guide the blade to cut squarely down the back side of the strut. Who knows? This might give you another feel metric to apply to future sabre saw tests.

Good review and nice to see metabo have got their act together on these two tools. The compact will get added to my box. Didn’t know they are refusing to stack 3 cells in the batteries - can’t wait to see what happens if they sort that out 😂😂

Recip is def one of those tools having something bit more comfortable and less rough as guts pays off. Ive got the original Milwaukee Fuel, aswell as the 18v Makita brushless and the vibration def does get to you after extended use.

The compact does have a adjustable shoe plate and it can take Jigsaw blades as well as recipro blades

Hi, great video. Don't know if somebody already responded, but the way to take the battery of is different then you showed. The idea is that you push the red button with the palm of your hand - that's why they are located just beneath the handle ;-) - And then you can pry the battery out with your other hand. Hope this helps.

Haven't tried the full size saw but own the compact. Great saw love it. Metabo batteries. I have had all sorts. Currently have just gone back to the 5.2 standard lithium ones. Old hat so cheap to buy. I have tried the hidride ones but only have one left. The others died very quickly. I did contact Metabo about this and have never had a reply. Hard to remove batteries agree. Same as the Bosch ones as I wrote last week. Tight fitting on the Metabo causes problems in Qld Summer. Several times have gone to change battery on their tools only to find it plastic welded to the case. I have literally had to cut them apart. Solution I came up with is to sand the tool cases down and make a looser fit. Now easier to get battery off and they don't stick. In my opinion the Bosch Procore batteries much better. I flog them all still going strong. The newer Metabo ones nearly all died and quickly. Tools the reverse. Newer Bosch tools very fragile. The Metabo and I have quite a few the only brand I have that none so far have died.

I love the videos you guys made over all these years, just wanted to add a correction about the compact Metabo saw. It has an adjustable shoe, with the small red button on the left front of the machine. So the shoe is adjustable in the same way as on the bigger Metabo saw.

There are 24 companies using the CAS battery system, soon to be 25. Most of the companies are building site tools, things like mixers, concrete related tools etc. I wish fein adopted CAS so that we could use their excellent multi-tool without needing their proprietary battery.

The problem with the 10ah and power delivery is that it's using Samsung 21700 5000mah cells that have a max discharge of 15a and continuous of 10a. Compared to the other brands using 21700 they went for higher output cells ranging from 25 to 35a continuous.but at lower density. Also metabo went for a standard configuration and cooling vs bosch who stacks and also uses copper joiners as a form of heatsink. So the older 5.5ah using 18650s can out out more as it's using high output cells. But for most the 10ah will be a better battery and most Metabo tools don't draw that much power as Metabo know the limitations of their tools and battery systems

Metabo just keeps getting better I have had so much better performance and longevity compared to the red junk I used to have. You learn.

Just learn the right way to get the battery out I'd say. BECAUSE it is pretty easy!

Hey I thought your next one was going to be the Bosch track saw

If you think removing the batteries on cordless Metabo stuff is bad; just wait until you have to reassemble them after an on field repair.. 🙄 Chasing little springs around and whanot. The batteries get stuck because there’s a floating fork piece that locks them in and if when you press the button piece it pushes that fork to the left or the right instead of dead straight...

Forgot.. does the little BL one still take jigsaw blades as well??

Love ya work guys but 1 thing u never mention is like festool generally all metabo gear anything this is red (festool green) does a setting change or operates the tool.

The difference in the battery packs comes down to old ones using 18650 type cells versus 21700 type cells. 21700s are way gutsier, so if you have a choice, always go for packs that contain them. Metabo call them LiHD, DeWalt's are I think Flexvolt Advantage, Bosch call theirs ProCORE 18v etc etc.

Is the vibration on the full sized recip better than the Makita 40v? My 40v shakes me to pieces mainly when cutting roots.

What Blade would you recommend for a clean PVC cut with the sabre saw?

Who makes a full size professional sabre saw in Germany or a good country ??

Huge R/D on 12/18v Platform with metabo/Milwaukee/Bosch and im stuck with Makita and their stupid 40v Platform... Oh my.
