The filter on the m18 is a very strong durable material. I took one apart to see why the vac had very little suction. Tried using a sock for a filter which increases suction so much that the float ball gets instantly sucked into the vac motor

I use the 9amp battery in mine, with no problems so far after about 3 years of use (I have the first model version) Very powerful motor and the filter catches a massive amount of dust. I even sucked up some newly laid cement by accident, which just went straight through into the collection box (little pile in the left hand corner) Haven't used it on water yet, but I don't really want to get the filter wet anyway. 2 spare filters ready to use, but still in their plastic bags. brillian tool on sawdust and metal filings etc. from my metal cutting chop saw. One of my favourite Milwaukee tools, also makes an excellent blower to clean the wood bandsaw etc.

You would remove the pleated filter for wet or preferably use a foam filter designed for wet. Water ruins the pleated dry filters.

I've been using this vacuum for about a year now. It is the only cordless vac I've owned that performs as well as a corded vac. Unfortunately, the hose is annoyingly short and it's a non-standard size, so you can't just add another hose segment, like ANY other vacuum out there. I ordered the hose adapter from Milwaukee, but it doesn't fit any regular size hoses either!

Use a small leaf blower (while wearing a dust mask) to blow out your filters rather than washing them. Makes a giant dust cloud, but you don't need to wait for your filter to dry out.

Any suggestions to removing the hose from the inlet??!!!! I’ve been using mine flat out for 4 years (as a plumber it’s been through the absolute wars believe me) The hose has finally carked it but I can not for the life of me remove it. In fact I’ve even broken the leaver using too much force trying to twist it out 😢😢 !! Might be time for a new one. Couldn’t recommend this product more

Try not to wash the filter. If you do wash it, make sure the filter is dry before using it. The pleats can come apart. I'm still using my original filter. Only washed it once. I swapped a longer shop vac hose to fit the M18 after the flex hose cracked. It can still be used again. But I put a full length hose on instead. Uses all shop vac aftermarket and the Milwaukee accessories.

@960wattoffgridrv
@960wattoffgridrv 2 жыл бұрын
you have to remove the broken part of the hose. it'll only shorten it by an inch or two. it can be repaired. if not just get any 1 1/4 inch shop vac hose and it will thread right into the male end of the m18 hose attachment that fits to the machine. you might have to pick the old dried glue out of the male end to get another hose to fit. but any shop vac hose interchanges to the M18 cordless shop vac

A 5.0AH battery still gets me about 45 minutes of use. I keep 2 batteries in rotation. My M12 tools I have at least 4-6 batteries. I threw out the M18 jobsite radio. Had no bluetooth and didn't work with the battery after using it for 2 weeks. I have called Milwaukee company in the past and have no patience with their bullshit. I threatened home depot staff and managers for selling me overpriced junk that I end up throwing away. Returning shit to them is a waste of time and more money. m12 and m18 do not honor their warranties. Home Depot is doing more to promote Ryobi and Ridgid cordless tools since Milwaukee threw away the quality of their own product line. I have spent thousands into flashy bright red garbage that claimed to be good quality tools. a few years back they were good. but within the last couple years, I haven't had a working battery pack that doesn't end up getting smashed with an axe or sledgehammer and thrown into traffic to get ran over to little worthless pieces. I've been throwing away money. huge amounts of money!
