To anyone who has done it by the book and the spawn rates are bad, check that the zombie actually sees inside the villager rooms. Mine had an issue where my minecart stopped at the very top of the first powered rail instead in the middle like in the video, giving the villagers a very short time to react to the zombie as it started moving again. You can fix it by placing the slabs on the bottom of the window instead on the top of it, this way the zombie sees the villagers the whole stopping time giving loads more time for the villagers to react as well. This fixed it for me, hope it helps you too!

Btw if anyone wanted to know, this farm does work underground. I managed to get 46 iron in 2min. I used 1 zombie on each side of the villager chambers instead of railways, bc it's kinda hard to build or navigate the area underground, it's also quite expensive. I left a open gap between the zombies and villagers and gave each zombie an item to prevent them from despawning. Theoritically I should be making 1,380 iron/hr. Which is really good and it's always active bc it's under my base, but I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference. Slightly under 1,500 in an hour on the thumbnail but it's more than enough, I built it underground just for a reminder, which concluded to the following results obtained. if your golems are spawning outside, make sure you destroy any terrain that is close to the villager rooms, also instead of slabs on top of the villager room, try leaves. i hope this works for anyone having this problem. I just mined 10 blocks away from each villager room and it started working. good luck !

Pro Tip: Fill in the walls of the little area at the bottom with glass and an iron door, and it’s the perfect AFK spot!

For anyone who wants to build this in a biome like the snowy slopes, snowy taiga, or any kind of cold biome, just remember to place either lanterns or torches around where your water source blocks are. don't worry about the waterlogged stairs as those cant freeze.

I tryed putting 2 zombies on the rail, 1 each side of the square, its even more effective now!

Just built this in my hardcore world and posted an episode about it. Ended up swapping out the building blocks and building the villager pods as towers inspired by a spruce village. Thanks for this tutorial, I've credited your video in my description. It's so good to have an iron farm with some movement, the minecart should make the area feel more alive.

Built and testing 1.19.1 (Java) and works very well. Probably the best iron farm I've ever tried.

To anyone building underground; make sure that you use slabs on the floor of the room and on any potential spawning spaces for the golem, i had to check if there were any caves near by that made the efficency drop. Hope that helps :D

I have been building almost this exact build for years, but you did give me some ideas for some minor upgrades. I also found that in 1.17 the villager nodes where too close together, so I expanded the build to cover a 3x3 chunk area with the track for the zombie on the outside of the build, just on the inside of the 3x3 chunk perimeter.

Amazing!!! This farm works on bedrock 1.19.21, it produces over 1,4k iron per hour. Guys I recommend building this in your world. Just a tip: build it more than 150 blocks away from any village/ villager breeder. It works on Mc pocket edition too

Tip: By the front of the villager chambers by where the zombie goes on the rail delete the top slabs by the window to make sure that the iron golems spawn every time the zombie comes by. Before I did this the Iron golems rarely spawned.

This farm is actually legit though I’m getting so much iron and it’s only been a few minutes lol

I tested this farm with carped for 3h and this farm produces about 1030 Iron Ingots/h (+-15) and 255 Poppys/h (+- 7)

I like how u build it slowly instead of craming it into a 1m video and having to puase every 1s

This farm works so well. I get iron really fast and this will definitely help with other builds. Note to self: Don't build close to hills, build on FLAT land so iron golens do not spawn on those hills. If built on a hill just cover with slabs or buttons.

Great design, for sure one of the best even though its really easy to make ( tbh the hardest part is getting the villagers in the pods and the zombie on the rails) I really love the list of items at the start. You were going nice and slow and its easy to follow. To the people that want to make this: i suggest you make it near your xp farm ( if you have one) or near your base so you dont have to afk it as much. And also dont forget to bring some temporary blocks (scaffolding is best but dirt works just fine) My apologies for any spelling errors... other than that have a great day and thank you for the amazing build!

Hello Guys. I just made thus farm and just so you'll know, to save materials you can skip railway part of the farm and just make a small platform near the village house. It's will need four zombies and name tags or item. Keypoint. Make sure the structure is elevated and under the house has a very flat surface, there should be no trees or hill under the house or else the golem spawn on them. Edit: Build the zombie platform facing the first base so the golem spawn directly over the water.

Built this farm and its working very well! A tip for anyone who is going to build it, you dont need to use as many powered rails, I was able to get it to work with about 30 powered rails and with some experimenting, it could probably be reduced further.

Just finished making this, took a LONG time ... but now I have enough iron for everything :) Some tips to save time when building this in survival mode..... 1. made the whole thing above water so the golem doesn't spawn elsewhere 2. made it away from where I built my village just to be safe and doesn't get messed up. 3. made the 1st chamber > moved 3 villagers > made the 2nd chamber > moved 3 villager ... etc. this way I don't have to worry about linking the beds. 4. make sure you do the water FIRST and then the lava. if you mess up ...your lava turns into stone. Happened to me :( 5. If you do it in hard mode. you don't need a nametag just throw something so the zombie picks it up. It won't despawn. Lock up a zombie at night time. and move your zombie in day time. (that way you don't have to fight mobs when moving your zombie.) Give your zombie a nice helmet before you move it tho. thanks for the videoooo.

I added another zombie so they are both at the same time on half so they are balanced. It works MUCH FASTER it’s worth adding another zombie. (U almost get double the rates)

Hey, if your trying to find out why segments of your farm aren’t working (especially underground), here are some things to try: Check all spaces around the villager chambers in like a 10 block radius, many times a golem will spawn in the walls, preventing more from spawning on this segment, for this, just fill in the walls so there isn’t room for them to spawn Make sure that the villagers are connected to their beds, in many scenarios the villagers will still be linked to their old beds or workstations. This means that although there in a new “village”, the game still thinks their in an old one. I find that destroying and replacing all the beds in the immediate area. Make sure your decently close to the farm. Golems only tend to spawn when your in a generally close area to them. It’s a really awesome farm and it’s crazy easy to build for the rates that it makes, good luck with those villagers!

If anyone wants to turn off the farm, all you have to do is flick one of the levers to stop the minecart, and when you want to turn it back on, just the flick the lever and give the the zombie a little push :)

This is a great design! I’ve built it twice myself in different survival worlds. It pumps out iron like you wouldn’t believe. I have a few tips for other players looking to build this farm. 1. Make sure that the elevation you start the build at is the highest around. If there’s terrain above this level, golems can spawn on those areas instead of in the farm. Try to build somewhere flat, or on the top of a mountain / hill. 2. A cheaper and easier way to get the villagers in place is to use job sites (like a composter) to lure them into their cells. Just a friendly tip, since we all know moving villagers is the worst part about building iron farms XD. 3. Where the hoppers carry out the items, I added a filter to take the poppies and compost them. For one, it separates your iron for more efficient storage. But also, this farm also passively produces bonemeal for me now, since I added this little module. Very easy to install and I highly recommend it. 4. The bottom bit underneath where the golems die, I turned into an AFK room, complete with barrels to store iron in. Again, would recommend. 5) (EDIT) Put some lightning rods on top of each villager pod, about 5 blocks above. I know they’re enclosed, but after a 3-hr AFK session, I had one pod entirely turned into witches. It could’ve only been lightning. I added 4 lightning rods to catch any future strikes. Overall, this farm is stellar. It will likely be my favorite design for years to come :) Thanks for the tutorial!

This farm works and is very fast, but I did have to spawnproof it which was very annoying. If you are building this, build this over an area where mobs cannot spawn such as over an ocean or in the sky. If you have already built it, you can spawnproof it using slabs.

Main issue with this design is time, the slabs have to be changed as per the message below by anttoniaberg to the villager chambers. But golems will not spawn if one os present somewhere on the farm, so the zombie reaches 3 arms of villagers before a glem spawns again, you dont get one at each stop. I guess you could slow the redstone with more comparitors.

this is the best farm ive ever built. I added slabs on the ground to help spawn rates, and it was fantastic. I've built it twice, and even with only two sides of the villager things, it works wonders. Definitely reccomend.

This is a big farm to build but it's all worth it. I build it near my village (not to close so the villagers in the farm don't detect the golem from original village) so I can get the villagers to the chamber easier. I get 5 villagers per chamber so even when I havent completed the rail, the golem started to spawn already. I had no problem with the villagers as I just need to put a work station a little bit far away from the original village, when they get to the station to work, I trapped them there and put rail and minecart. Remember to name the zombie or get them something to hold so they don't despawn. I finished the farm last night, now I get like 100 iron every 5 mins.

If you add a second zombie to a second minecafrt you can sync them up and it will spawn two iron golems at the same time, doubling your iron intake. If youre able too, you can even sync 3 or 4 carts but they have to be timed perfect.

The zombie died, I found a golem standing on the single block where the redstone torch is placed. Maybe a slab will help but I haven't got on though.

Stage 1: So 11 blocks high tower for the golem to fall into, right? Simple enough. Stage 2: Extend to all four sides? OK then... Stage 3: Oh, so *now* we put the villagers- All four sides? Three each?! Stage 4: Railings???? Stage 5: ...

Very good farm and early game friendly. Encountered one problem where golems would stop spawning completely after a few irl days of playing. Found that it was that the villagers needed to sleep, so I flicked a lever on one of the corners and left it for a night in game to let the villagers sleep.

I’ve left mine going for awhile now and my golems won’t spawn. The villagers do get scared by the zombie and the zombie can see them but no iron golems how can I fix this?

Built another iron farm (found on youtube) and it worked okay... THIS ONE works as advertised exactly as built... had to do a little spawn proofing to the ground below and apply lava to a few golems on the ground but once done this farm produces four golems in about 55 seconds (over and over)... after three days I have two double chests full of 64-stacks of iron BLOCKS... maybe overkill? nah... it's sweet! (but yes... it produces way more iron than you could EVER need)... Used boat to move villagers used soul sand and water sources to climb up... dropped off villagers at night with steps up to their new beds (worked great)... Added poppy sorter to the design but I cant think of anything else to do to it! WELL DONE.

Really wish you didn't build this in creative mode. It's so hard to try and match what you're doing when you're flying around. Overall pretty good tutorial. I am getting all the iron at this point :)

Question, I’m having a problem with the spawn rates. Sometimes the zombie stops and the villagers panic, but the golem doesn’t spawn???? It only works 2/4 times helpppppp

I built this fantastic farm and have so many iron ingots! I really appreciate this tutorial and the effort you put into it. I did notice that when the thunderstorm at night with phantoms attacking me resulted in the minecart going the opposite direction. It isn't a fault of the iron farm tutorial, but maybe a bug in the game. It was an easy fix. I have so many Iron Blocks!!!

I got 124 iron in 10 minutes from this farm. Had a bit of trouble getting it to work initially, (I'm a java user btw), but I moved the lighting to the ceiling and added jobs sites, I also broke one of the glass pieces in the middle because I was trying to figure out if that would help the villagers see the zombie. I don't know if either of those did anything, but the farm started working afterwards. Could've been that, or just giving it some time, not sure.

This farm works great, its easy to build and the video gets straight to the point and is easy to follow. Btw if you built this farm in a snow biome an your water keeps freezing into ice just place a slab on the water so it still flows and it doesn't turn into ice. Also increase the height of the walls around the slabs by 1 just incase a golem gets out.

I built it like you've instructed, however, the golems keep spawning outside of the farm. Note, the farm is near a village because I didn't have enough resources to transfer the villagers far + its on normal height level. Does it have to do with it? (1.18.2 Java)

This is one of the best iron farms, but I had some problems while making this, such as the iron golems spawning in the wrong place, if you have trouble with the iron golems, such as them spawning on top the the celings of the rail way and the room of the villagers and killing the zombie, I reccomend changing the slabs into 5 layers of snow carpet and on the cieling that covers the zombie from the sun, the rail way also needs to be at least 6 blocks away from the ground, otherwise iron golems will spawn on the ground.

Very simple, efficient, and the materials aren't hard to get (what can cause more trouble are building blocks and rails). Have it on my technical survival, already got 4 stacks of blocks in a bit more than an hour.

i built it block by block and got about 1100 an hour but then i added two more levels on top of it and im doing 2800 an hour, which was way easier to add the layers to because of the design. 9/10
