It isn't The Crow without music from the original soundtrack such as "Dead Souls" from Nine Inch Nails or "The Big Empty" by the Stone Temple Pilots. Either song on The Crow trailer will all but guarantee you at least $250 million in tickets sales. And a song that would have fit The Crow like a glove but was in The Lost Boys. "Cry Little Sister" by Gerald McMann. But with that said, the original movie wasn't even as dark as it was intended to be. Brandon Lee's accidental death lead to some revisions. This movie, this The Crow, just seems like a step backward and not forward. The whole point of The Crow was pure vengeance. Revenge for a life taken too soon. Because there was never a promise of a happily ever after in the next life. The Crow gave Eric Draven a single chance to avenge the death of Shelley. And because Eric had no belief he would ever see her again, he was going to ensure the people he held responsible for her death and his own were going to die in as brutal a way as possible. He was rage one moment and filled with grief over his lost the next. And he questioned his actions the whole time. And to be honest, I'm just not getting that vibe from this trailer.

It's not that deep story line: Guy comes back from dead and seeks for revange of those ones who killed him and his girlfriend. Literally that's the story of Original movie. But the point was how they interpretated that story in first movie and how director presented that story. So yes, this looks nothing like that.
