I initially thought Nulldrifter was a bad card because it doesn't have ETB, but it actually makes the deck like this more consistent now because now you have different 3 drop to curve from proctor or thrull!

that bounce from graveyard spell also works with the evoke mode of Nulldrifter - just fyi - it gets disgusting

Hey, faced against my brought back brew match 2 :) that deck was so close to working but ended up not being quite there. I had hardcast solitude game 1 at the end there, didn't process that the thrill prevents it, but you had mana drain anyway. Game 2 had 3 rings and air, thought i might get away with it and then thrull prevents the fog lmao. Its a rough matchup to be sure, i gotta hold open fetches for brought back to work and then get stifled. And solitude is like the whole game plan and you've got thrull... just brutal. ggs

@@Takobyteyeah, but I played probably 12 matches yesterday and they're mostly bad matchups. Nothing feels better than double fetch brought back 4 lands though lol

Yup. I've been playing this deck for about two weeks with 4 x Stifel and 4 x Consign to Memory and it's been running pretty well. Countering a colorless spell has also come up and once I was able to use the replicate ability on my creature's ETB plus a Bowmaster trigger, which felt amazing. I've also been playing 4 x Planar Genesis in the two-drop slot over counter magic. It finds you the creature, or the Stifle effect, or can ramp you to 4 mana on turn three, depending on what you need. For anyone interested, I would also run one or two Prismatic Ending. Deck is super fun!

Love your vids man. I’m still obsessed with the sneak attack one from a few days ago. Question though: wouldn’t it have been better to use March on elesh norn in game three around 42 mins? Just in terms of mana efficiency

been playing a jeskai version for a while, feel like phlage gives a better clock than uro and the boardwipes help against a lot of stuff

Is lotus field not a good addition for this deck? Or is it just not needed.

At min 3:30 why didn't you crack that fetchland to get a land at the end of enemy turn? I saw you often don't do it, and get the 2 shock damage the next turn, with no reason. Those 2 lifes usually make a difference between a win and a loss.

I think it’s often correct not to crack a fetch until the last possible moment if you are playing with brainstorm . Also a reason you may not play out all your lands

At 4:23 this looks like a pretty bad misplay. If you had instead used mana drain on their 3-drop, you would’ve been in a better spot. The board would show you with Uro and Proctor on the field at the cost of a mana drain in hand. They would have ocelot and ragavan, but be down their phlage. Because you have no kill spells or board wipes in hand, you need to use your counter spells in this position to keep their field in check. It doesn’t matter if you’re wanting to save the counter for something bigger later, they’re representing a threat that you can’t deal with on board

there's multiple things that makes lotus field a bad card for the deck 🙂 1. it comes in tapped and have to destroy lands 2. card disadvantage if you try to ramp 3. you are taking away cards that should be used for your threats or out-tempoing by destroying lands (stifle) 4. can't play oko or uro 5. what do we ramp into? nothing much My assessment is that having lotus field in the deck is not free. With such high opportunity cost the card would make the deck worse.

**checks Thief of Crowns** Yep, Oko is still banned in Historic, Pioneer, Modern and Legacy. Easily one of the better things you can be doing. How long will/should it last in Timeless?

@dragade101 not anytime soon because artifacts are not as prominent as it is in other formats. Weirdly enough, dark ritual is the most broken card right now in timeless, but it is a tame card in other formats because of free counters.
