Taeyong didnt grow up rich, and he did not have any dance or singing background as a child. SM is so fortunate to have discovered him, and thankful for the gruesome and hard training, they squeezed out the best in him that they could ever get. I mean if you know how he dances and raps? And makes music? They discovered a legend. Taeyong deserves to be at the center, for me, TY, Kai and Taemin are the best centers. They have charisma. They have very strong stage presence. His face is unbelievably worth the center. The way he carries himself, he is like a walking Neo Culture frickin Technology. If NCT is a school, TY is the council president and the valedictorian. But still takes care of his members and respects his seniors. He is a really good leader.

Taeyong stopped a concert last year and told his members to leave the stage because the audience would not move back from crowding the first few rows. He takes his job of protecting the members & NCTzens very serious.

The responsibility this man is taking on his shoulders is a lot, and the main reason why the spotlights on him it's his position in the group, come on he is the leader of 23 members and a main dancer and main rapper his visuals and face of the group I don't know why people can't see he is a really talented idol.

You're actually spot on with Taeyong's presence being the reason why people think he has much more spotlight. Like yes of course, he's usually in the middle when all NCT members gather but that's because he's leading them. Other than his center position, mostly when people complain about him getting a lot more, it almost always turns out that there are other members getting the same amount of opportunities as him, some even getting more. But because of his strong presence, people always notice him no matter what the circumstances and then chalk it up to him being "pushed by SM." It has been like this from the start. Lot of undeserved hate towards him. And it's pretty sad. In my years of being into kpop groups, this is the only instance I've noticed (to this level) where the general fandom dislikes and doesn't respect the leader of the group they stan

and to add to that. It's not like it was Taeyong who wanted to have all those parts he's getting. He literally have been getting so sick from all his schedules but we've never seen him complained yet the fans always complain about him having so much screentime but when it's other members who have the same amount or even more screentime than him they don't mind and they actually love it. Like I get it, there are definitely some members who deserve more but don't throw your hate on the member who's getting more because it's not their fault, he's just working hard and it's sad that he's getting treated like this by his own fandom (obv not all). I've been a fan since they were still sm rookies but czennies are definitely getting more toxic each year. It's crazy how we always fight one another. I find it funny most of the times but sometimes it gets out of hand it's super stressful. This is also why I really wanted SM to stop the limitless rule already because it's getting worse as they add more groups. And don't get me wrong, I always learn to love the new groups and even I love the new and last upcoming group and already have Seunghan as my bias lol but the limitless concept was smart at first but it wasn't done properly. Like they can't even properly manage all 18 members before and they wanted it to be limitless? lmao i was literally celebrating when they announced that nct tokyo will be the last unit. So far, the schedule they revealed for the the units this year seems really promising and nice so I hope it stays that way.

yesss, if you think you are seeing him too much it is just because your eyes are drawn to him, he barely had lines in 2baddies except for the chorus which they all sing together but you will still notice him because of his presence. This is the only fandom i have been in where most of the fandom boycott another member for no good reason. what they don't understand is that you cannot replace him, he worked his butt off for this group and now when the group is thriving they decide to gloss over him.

yeah, a lot of the hate that taeyong gets seems similar to the kind that wonyoung gets. like people call her an attention seeker, but she's just pretty lmao people need to learn that she's just gonna be pretty no matter what she's doing. like taeyong who will always have people's eyes drawn to him.

@@myragingwhormoans Yes, I thought the same when I saw some of the hate Wonyoung gets. It's actually crazy. I have come to realize that kpop stans have created a hate train for a couple of pretty and talented idols (like Taeyong and Wonyoung) so that they can direct their anger to someone when they feel like their fav idols fall short on some expectations. And that's already bad enough, but on top of it there are lots of people who know nothing about these pretty idols but just see others constantly hate on them and decide to join in, just because 😮‍💨

I agree many conflate Taeyong’s strong presence and capability with favouritism. Taeyong adds so much flavour/style to their music, choreo and performances-there is no member more “neo” than Taeyong. He has been a pillar of the brand and group from the beginning. Taeyong wasn’t appointed by SM to lead NCT as a whole at the start-he ended up leading because the members looked to him to lead.

Yes, as you clearly see, a kpop LEADER is a special kind of person that others instinctively trust & follow. You can SEE it not only with his members but also how he can control huge audiences with a word or gesture. Leading mentoring & representing the NCT FRANCISE is a complicated commitment and a skill very few people master or even want. And HE bears the mantle humbly. He does not exploit or flaunt his role. Thank YOU for your enthusiasm. By now so many battles have been fought & won and he is getting more acceptance & appreciation so its harder to explain fandom weariness... HOW much taeyongs supporters have HAD to defend him over the years. Its refreshing in the truest sense of the word to see taeyong through the fresh eyes of new fans who can see him...clearly.

That clip in 10:54 was from NCT Life in Bangkok, broadcasted in April of 2016, although it was filmed even before their official debut as NCT. The blue shirt Jisung was wearing was the SM Rookies uniform they all had, which contained their names and numbers. The SM Rookies boys had a showcase in Thailand during that time, but some members arrived earlier than the others. In this section, they all recorded video messages for each other.

The best leaders are born 1 July. 💚💙 Ty Track is my ult 👌 He seems like he's such a sweetheart and we can really see why SM and his children picked him as leader, it just fits. He is our leader, always.💚🌹 Mom Ty shares his birthday with Leeteuk, the leader of NCT's father group Super Junior (sm group). 🤣 (They're talking to Suju member Heechul at 14:33 for example). A moment that I'll never forget about is when they were in an absolutely horrific car crash where a few of them could've died. That mf had an open gash on his back and head, bleeding like a mf and was refusing help from the paramedics until they first picked up and helped his youngest member Kyuhyun that was almost already dead.. KH survived after a few days in a coma etc, one of the best vocalists in the country. But either way, that story is so incredibly fucked and traumatic and I have nothing but insane respect for all that he's done for his team outside of risking lives and all .. Like I said, the best leaders are born 1 July.
