The MT 48 sounds fantastic. I received mine just a few days ago, and I can confidently say that it surpasses my Apollo Twin X in terms of audio quality. I believe this superiority in sound can be attributed to a combination of the preamps and converters. Interestingly, I've noticed a slight estetic difference - the Neumann emblem on the unit you're reviewing is black, whereas mine is red. This could possibly be due to variations in different production batches. My unit comes from the second batch, so I cannot confirm whether all units from the initial batch feature the black emblem. PD: The headphone outputs are Outstanding as well.

Hope to see your usual superb review for the MT 48, especially the internal latency with its DSP effects, the round trip latency with DAW, also the quality of preamp, noise, and if the reverb is a real studio quality or just a normal mixer reverb, last, if you can tell us what ADC and DAC used here.

Merging Anubis is the interface neumann re branded, they didn't fill a gap with their own invention. They've made a slightly different rendition with the USB-C interface. Although, it's added that while losing Atoms expandability. The conversion quality is all Merging mind, so you don'5t lose anything by going with Merging other than the USB interface

To be fair, Neumann didn’t make their own speakers either, they smartly purchased Klein & Hummel.

I think the 80s are the best in the range! The 120mkii's are noticeably better than the mki's.

With a 750 subwoofer, kh 80 or 120 II will be better ?

I have the NDH30s and so far I really dig them. They are a nice accompaniment to my Adam Audio monitors as they appear to be very accurate and thus far the best headphones I have ever used. They are a step above my Sennheiser 600HDs while not necessarily night and day, but a noticeable improvement at least to my ears. Once I got the Neumanns I sold the Sennheisers.

I was thinking of upgrading to these from my trusty HD600s. New speakers is next on the list though for me so the NDHs will be a while off.

@@EdThorne most definitely I can dig it. I agree with that sentiment. The Neumann's are very nice and rock solid, but with headphones you already have I would not rush as they are the same companies and voiced very similar. I found mine as a B-stock on discount which is why I grabbed them.

Hi , I just baught Neumann kh-150 pair with ma1 mic bundle. Do you recommend me to add kh-750 dsp? Last question if I add kh-750 & calibrate with my kh-150’s, does it sound better a pair of kh-310’s ?? Could you compare this scenerios?

Hey Ed, have been. enjoying watching your videos👍🏾would love to see you review kn750. I have the KH80’s and am considering getting the kh750, would you still recommend it?

The KH750 and 80s were literally designed to go together. It’s a solid combination. I highly rate the 750. And it of course runs Neumanns room correction software on its in-built DSP which is far better than Sound iD!

@@EdThorne thanks for the response and recommendation. I already have the MA1 mic and software and have only used it so far with the KH80’s and am really impressed, so the kh750 seems like the next logical step!

I see a Prism Lyra or Titan in their desk juxt beside you Ed Thorne. Test the interface and tell us if the converters best what's available in the market from Apollo and RME and Audient

I can tell you that the converters on the Neumann are far ahead from those on the Apollo X. I also have the Twin.

I also have Prism Lyra and I’m wondering if it’s similar or better interface. My other question is also can it be used with an iPad? Because Prism can be used with iOS or PadOS as it’s class compliant interface. The only problem I have is there is no way to change the gain on the input once connected to the iPad, I had to connect it to a laptop or macbook to change it. :/ However, I must say 32 bit on the Neumann sounds promising.

Hi Ed I am waiting for you to review the Mum 8 Loudspeaker. Can you compare the Silk driver version to the Beryllium driver version as well please. Very Interested in these Spea,ers after seeing your report in Gearfest. Will you be long ? Cheers.

I can’t wait for the review of the MUM-8s from PDP. I actually am waiting for a pair to be installed in my bedroom studio. It’s a game changer.

@@bohdan3239 Will do! I’m quite up in the queue, but the PDP folks are chugging them MUM-8s like crazy. Very dedicated people, the struggle they have now is real. They will personally come and install the monitors, and make final adjustments to them based on my room response. I know what the problem areas are in my room, which even with quite some acoustic treatment isn’t up there. We will manage though, I’m sure. All the best, Michal.

DO they do a device with enough inputs to record a five peace band live from the floor in stereo. We struggled with 2 apogee Ensembles. Two even four inputs are a joke

It’s just this two channel interface atm but it has ADAT and AES I/O expandability.

Must be my hangover and lack of knowledge of this stuff, even tho I've watched all Ed's videos on interfaces and should know by now, but all I heard from this bloke was "blah blah marketing guff blah blah "solutions" "experience" blah blah some numbers". Haha still a great watch as always Ed! I WANT to need this kind of gear haha but it's obviously aimed at people who will really get the use out of it. Now, an "Ed Thorne fan club" t shirt I WOULD buy! 🤣

I understand but sometimes I feel we overthink when it comes to gear... you can reach amazing quality with a focusrite solo with the proper mixing and mastering with a great mic.@@EdThorne I currently use the Focusrite solo, and neuaman 102 TLM
