Bo Peep is the Grand Daughter of SGCH Farm Oldesouth Cuppuccino 3*M, 3*D, top ten production doe and number one butter fat. As yearlings the does don't milk that much, just keep milking and boom...the second freshening or kidding will be twice the first, the third twice the second and from that point on...you have your perfect home milker... To many folks just dump the nigerians as yearlings, no patience and go to a big goat that won't even give you as much a a 3 year old Nigerian and cost you 3 times the amount of feed and parasite wilting flowers. Baby first milkers need to be milked for as long as you can stand it. At least 6 months. You will be rewarded double and triple down the road. But most folks want instant gratification. That Nubian is the same way. But what do I know... Learned from an even older goat lady then myself... Hey WarParty has had one heck of a party with the girls... I have had Nubians and the Nigerians out performed them every time and much tougher to the south's parasite loads! I went through 15 Nubians, only kept one, who gave me a gallon a day. Several of my fourth, fifth freshening does will give close to a gallon. But realize this is rare. A half gallon is my cut off. But no yearling is going to give you that much. Plus when I make cheese, the yield is double with a nigerian compared to a Nubian. That was my experience with Nubians. There are really great Nubians out there but are hard to find and expensive. Love my Nigerians.... and I bred what I wanted because I could not find the quality. That BS degree in Dairy Cattle from MSU I earned many years ago, came in handy when I decided to breed goats....

I raise Nigerian dwarfs in south Georgia and I absolutely love them and their milk. I just had 4 does kid on my homestead Monday. 3 had triplets and 1 had quads (unfortunately one was stillborn). This was in a 24 hour period! They all kidded unassisted and had quick births. In the 4 years I've been raising goats I've only helped with clearing the sack around the kids face and in their nose and mouth. Oh and Nigerians are notorious for throwing twins and triplets so be prepared for more than one. If she happens to have bucklings you could always wether them. Wethers make some of the sweetest pets. Wishing y'all luck!

Just a quick note. We have been raising NDG for almost 10 years with out herd reaching almost 40 at one time. We have only bottle fed in extreme emergencies and all our goats are as tame and loving ad Tip. We do spend a lot of time with them from the time they are born. each have their own personalities we have had a few that roamed the house while most preferred the great outdoors. Some do tend to get a little stand offish from time to time, it just seems to be like mood swings, because at other times they are trying to get up in your lap. Many or ours run on the smaller side so they are much easier to handle.

Two things - #1 - you ain’t gonna sell the babies - Most likely not just one. :0). They are so dang cute and lovable! #2 - bottle babies are definitely very friendly but if you mess them enough dam raised can be just as friendly. We mainly dam raise and separate at night to milk and all of ours act about like Tip! :0). Can’t wait to see your new babies! Good luck!

Love your videos, I have a couple of questions for you. 1) When it is that wet do you have any hoof problems, fungus or hoof rot? 2) Do you provide mineral salts? Just wondering as I have 25 Nubians and when it is really wet they used to have hoof problems until I provided a salt/mineral lick and that seemed to help a lot. Keep up the great vids.
