The interior graphic you used to compare with the Qashqai is that of the 2021 Qashqai. It had a mild facelift in 2022 and has the same infotainment screen as the X-Trail. I sat in both a few weeks ago and the interiors are pretty on par quality wise since the facelift. Have my Qashqai on order.

I've have the N-CONNECTA E4ORCE for little over 2 weeks now and the car is lightyears ahead of it's previous generation in everyway. I'm not sure where this 35mpg comes from as i'm averaging about 50mpg and I'm not driving like my nan. The car's eco mode is leaps more responsive and quicker than the 2liter diesel 4x4 that i used to own, so eco mode is more than enough for me. I must point out though... the e-pedal is brilliant, but unlike this review stated it doesn't bring the car to a complete stop (gets you down to about 6mph). Only the pro-pilot or intelligent cruise control will bring the car to a complete stop. All-in-all, the car is a brilliant drive and would recommend at least a test drive. I'm fully sold on electric and look forward to the first fully electric X-Trail in the near future. Well done Nissan 👍

I am not sure how you achieved it. I have 2wd e power and average ~7.2/100 (~39mpg) if I barely touch gas pedal. Already done ~1k+ km and consumption just goes up even that I am using eco + e.pedal. And its almost identical at high and low speeds

@@Pievka hi not sure then, I ve done 5000miles now and the overall mpg is 44.8 mpg. One thing I have noticed is that aircon or heating makes a big difference to the mpg, as you would expect. I have found that using eco mode adds about 4mpg on a 200mile journey, if you manage the EV mode you can get another 7/9 mpg out of the car, I found that if you take your foot off the petal it will switch into EV mode before the car manages it thus gain more mpg.

So it seems that the e-4orce is all about power, not economy. But the battery is so tiny I wonder how long it can keep up high power and torque before it runs out of oomph. Not long I suggest. And charging from the small engine seems to be thermodynamically insufficient/inefficient. The alternative petrol version is apparently slightly more fuel efficient but only comes in 2wd. Oops. If the X-trail is an SUV then why does it come in 2wd-only versions clearly for nothing off road, not even a muddy track? Is it then just a high roof station wagon ?

Had mine a month now, tekna bose eforce 5 seat. Im averaging 44ish, which is about the same as my previous 2.0tdi 4wd tiguan DSG. Thats in normal mode on usual 20 mile commute, country roads and 2 miles of dual carriageway. Its very quiet, very smooth, even when flooring it the engine isnt that loud. Interior is very upmarket too. So in all honesty, although im very impressed with it, why didnt they just bang a 2.0tdi in it, economy would be the same and less complex.

I'm trying really hard to understand Nissan's philosophy behind this odd configuration. What's the point if it ends up consuming more fuel that it would with a 1.6lt engine for instance. On top of that, you have two different systems to maintain instead of one.
@gerrybailey447
@gerrybailey447 Жыл бұрын
How else can you get 213 bhp and 525 Nm torque from a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine without putting it under so much stress it would be really unreliable. A 4 litre normally aspirated Porsche flat 6 puts out less torque than that. So 40 mpg from a powerful 4x4 that can easily move 7 people around, it makes sense to me.

The main points with this system is that a) fuel efficiency is high in town driving, where petrol or diesel SUVs have terrible efficiency due to their high weight - unfortunately the difference is small on roads and highways; and b) maintainance is better than non-hybrid cars because the thermal engine always works around its optimal rpm value to feed the battery, letting the electric engine do the wide rpm range.

Nissan should accept that they are not good at hybrids and suck up to Toyota to use their technology instead.
@toyotaprius79

Maybe you don't know your hybrids too well. Not all hybrids are created equal. Nissan's is a series hybrid, Toyota's is a series/parallel planetary gear set hybrid (that's also patent protected...) But both Nissan and Toyota have been doing something wrong. Advertising that not plugging in is some sort of benefit when it's the damned opposite. Toyota or Nissan's hybrids would be objectively better if simply offered as a plug in

Seriously unimpressed by the blatant PR misinformation going on, similar to Toyota's "self charging" hybrids. It's not a benefit to not plug in. It's a limitation. How Nissan has been advertising e-Power is antithetical to the LEAF and auto journalists are helping them ... Prius drivers since the mid 2000s have long DIYed plugin batteries because of how much better it made the hybrid drive. And it must be said, Nissan had the e-Power introduced in the Note in Japan since 2016. Why is it that we in Europe only have large vehicles shoved in our faces with this not-so-new hybrid?
