You can only get the huge from the best 3 chests. Almost none of the chests you open even have a chance. You need to go down to the last 2 areas. I got one the other day

Negative is the best 3 chests. I got it out of the purple chests. And to answer the other question I've been grinding the digsite since the update and it took me a week and a half. That being said it was buffed in the middle of that.
