I just love the way they talk to each other. They've been together for decades yet their banter sounds so fresh. It's like they are still so interested in each other's stuff. I've also heard from people who have met them that they are really very nice people. Lovely.

mmm My response to the first stuff was okay, vaguely decent pop then she went really crap. Nothing was surprising about it when you grew up with Spike Milligan and Python and stuff.

Her music is standard poppy synth and tbh her weirdness seems contrived, I much prefer St Vincent's music if we are going for synthy modern female stuff, and she's proper kooky not all this meat dress rubbish.

So many people out there don't know how influential both of his bands were to modern music. New Order was so ahead of its time, its ridiculous. Most of their songs sound like they could've been released last year. And Joy Division. They're the reason I started making music.

The only album I heard by Joy Division is there second and final album "Closer". That album is so amazing I Purposely haven't played there first album or any of New Order albums. I did get into Igggy Pop bcuz of Joy Division but that's uh topic for another time & place peace.

Trevor Wilson no shit eh? met peter backstage at the SAT in mtl years ago and he was such a twat. contrast that with james murphy who i hung with the night before (after a much bigger show) and he remembered me from a PHONE interview i'd done with him for a tiny magazine two years prior.

@VinylViper Yeah, I was thinking of Ian when I wrote this. In terms of musical history and impact on rave culture, I kind of think of Joy division and New Order as inseparable. Then there's the Happy Mondays, but yeah, N.O. and J.D. because of the cross over members. (RIP Ian Curtis)

Dat Marquee Moon and them both saying it was their favorite album at one point, Dat Gorillaz, dat absolutely ridiculous shit that Steve picked, dat Jesus and Mary Chain DVD, at the glorious time in that band's lineup when Bobby Gillespie was on drums. One of the best What's in My Bag's I've ever seen.

Amoeba is my favorite record store! I try to get to Hollywood from the Valley as often as possible to shop there, and at Ametron. Imagine shopping there, looking over, and seeing them locally! Since New Order rarely has any information on their sleeves, they seem to have this aura of secrecy, and I envision them always at home in England, and here they are, 12 miles from my house! I wish I'd have known they would be there.
