That's extremely good local. The longer you have your authority the more brokers pay you. Or the better paying brokers you can use I should say. Been getting around $1800-2400 a day. Between 300-600 miles a day. I try to stay around 400 though. After a year you can work for any broker. I use factoring every time. I just consider that not as lost money but a lower Linehaul rate. If you stop your authority that time starts over though. Trucking will do that. I had a $9000 repair. Then I sat my ass at home making no money paying my truck bills $4000 so yeah ups and downs 🙃 I'm just saving for a new truck. Less problems I'd hope

Don’t wait for a call, show up with your truck and don’t for get the Starbucks and donuts or breakfast burritos and drinks… show the initiative. Don’t go in there expecting any thing your just letting them know your out there and ready to roll when they need some one to haul for them. Load board is good but also just pick a few dispatchers to deal with get their contact complete info and send them gift cards or lunch on you just to say hey keep me in mind, trust me it works,you got to pay for the cheddar down the road

I too was wondering what happened with Morningstar. I was gonna sign on for the season but they never called. I would call occasionally going back to February just to make sure I was on the list and to find out when to do paperwork but it was always, “were not ready yet but we’ll call you.” So who knows? Maybe they got enough company drivers for the season though I doubt it. Anyway got to move on and follow the paper chase. Good content and keep up the good work!
@JohnNorris4113 жыл бұрын
Morning star never has enough drivers. They are running a few contract drivers this season but nothing like last season. They have just bairly started the season and there are plenty of lines of company trucks on dispatch waits daily, so I think the harvesting just has not hit at a high pace yet. I was told the Williams plant was shutting down for a week do to some water restrictions up north for the green tomato farmers, those green runs shut down early.

Ppl spend their entire lives at a traditional job (30 yrs) in order to save $500k. Coz after taxes 100k a year is only around 65k after taxes and then living expenses, auto, etc ur prob lucky to save $1000 a month which is $12k a year. If u can save $500k after 5 years you just shaved off about 15-20 years from the rat race. That’s extra time u have to invest that money, learn to start a business, etc etc.

Do a video on how you pay your taxes and your monthly expenses bro
@ModernMessiah3 жыл бұрын
Taxes are a 1099 unless you do a W2. You use profit and loss software (trucking office) and give that to your CPA. For 1099 you just write yourself a letter saying the business is going to pay you $400 or whatever you want. Bi weekly. Keep track of check stubs. Obviously you file a 1099 with the IRS. For fuel tax, your ELD should have all your miles and which states. I make an excel worksheet with all my fuel separated in each state. Then you plug that into your state website. You call ifta and they'll guide you through it. You can do that yourself. Mine was like $40 in fuel tax last quarter. Reefer fuel and DEF doesn't count.
