The Tycan has indeed set the benchmark for Rapid Devaluation! Hopefully this Macan will drop 60% in 2 years like the Tycan.... It will then be affordable. 👍

Why would depreciation be similar to the Tycan? Starting price is lower, it’s a new more advanced platform, has better performance efficiency, and the Macan is an SUV which has a bigger market. They have listed to market feedback and have clearly nailed attention to detail. Interest rates have had their correction now so you will only get buyers that can afford the rates. If you compare this to Q8, Polestar 3, Eletra a well specd version of the Macan 4 looks reasonably priced. I can’t see why used pricing fall by much when I look at the facts

@milesyounghamilton You facts appear well assembled and logical. I believe that EV prices are not holding steady at the moment because... 1) People don't really believe in them yet 2) There is plenty of supply coming from leasing companies 3) Technology is rapidly changing and 5 years is like 10 or 15 years. 4) It's a re-badged Audi and everyone knows As an aside, an MG4 X-power or Smart #1 Brabus is almost as must fun.... for far less (yes cheap junk vs quality) But fun for your £ no less.

car has 380mi of range, don't think it will depreciate that fast. I would buy the car if it was more in the 70k price range

@briantep458 It's range does look very respectable. But we will see what batteries they actually have once it is released. As they are the part of the car that defines its lifespan and range.

@@mikadavies660where did you get the 60 percent depreciation figure from? I see people repeat these rumours but that isn't consistent with the information from InsideEV or Taycan forums. They have the depreciation at around 45 to 49 percent after 3 years which is a far way short of the claimed 60 percent after 2 years. Depreciation on all EVs is worse than petrol cars and isn't specific to the Taycan. It is an evolving technology so EVs will deprecate until the technology is more mature.

Finally, its like someone read an EV owners mind....then built a car. acceptable range, great charge speed, actual buttons and dashboard and steering column stalks (looking at you muskyboy!) this will sell like hotcakes.

While the kneeroom in the rear is increased, the seat height is lower, so it will not really be an improvement over the combustion Macan.

Imagine the base Macan is a little less bhp than the MG4 X-power..... So clearly at £70,000 its a bargain.

The quest for more bhp in daily drivers is ridiculous… And frankly a ford focus RS was always cheaper and faster than any non-M BMW5 series but I would even prefer the lowest powered 5 series and pay 30k extra… The price for the Macan E seems still to high for me too but bhp comparisons dont make a lot of sense unless you want a performance car but then please dont by either…

@bingobongo1615 I was being facetious about the ridiculous cost of a 400bhp EV. Obviously, people are only buying the Macan at 70k for the badge and anyone wanting "the badge" would never be seen dead in an MG4.

It's actually very easy to find a charger that can do 300 or 350 kw. Almost every Fastned or Ionity charger can do that. And they are everywhere.

@@DokterRoetker I figured 🙂 You guys are somewhat further ahead with good infrastructure. Fastned in particular are a bit odd, a few down South, a few far North and NOTHING in the middle of the UK at all, a lot of growth to happen.

You need to add a bankback battary for 210 in more miles If you want to compete and take charge in EV tranportion.I know if anyone can do this tast Porsche CEO can do this

Current Macan owner here, just starting to look at EV cars. Looks good but I can't seem to ignore this is way overpriced. Hyundai Ionic 5N provides Macan turbo performance at half the cost.

911 do almost not depreciate and worth to buy them , this Macan looks great and desirable but you should lease it in the first place.

Porsche GT cars don't depreciate but the regular cars do deprecate. Most cars depreciate except for limited edition or difficult to get models.

EVs are the future but I won’t buy another Porsche in the UK. The salesmen are unfriendly and the service centres are well below Porsche Group standards. Much better in Asia.

Health hazard? Eating all that junk food and drinks while waiting for a charger? Business users only for the tax allowance, but nothing for the private buyer.
