Rip Lavender 😥💜

I am buying a set 150 prisma colors from amazon ,it is sad they have been discontuned . but excited for the new ones .thank you for sharing xxxx love your videos

How interesting! Definitely more muted tones, but given that Prismacolor couldn’t get the pigment anymore for the L&L, I think they’ll be a good substitute. I’ll be intrigued to see them in person when they arrive at my local stores. 💜

If we can't have Lavender and Lilac, these will be close enough to satisfy the things I would've used L&L for (when my current stock run out) but I can't wait for my store to get them -- as honestly I want to use all four for one piece. They are different enough that with shading and blending there are some lovely images to be had.

Though the two discontinued colours seem to be "brighter" (more vibrant?) in tones, as you said, the new ones are still pretty and they are just different. Perhaps with these "duller" colours, we'd get more natural-looking...flowers? 😅

I absolutely love the Orchid, it has a vintage muted soft colour. It loved the lavender too though, it was a beautiful colour.

Amethyst is my favourite stone, orchids are my favourite flowers/plants and purple my favourite colour. I think Prismacolor is in love with me. 💜

The new colors look as is they could fit in with the Derwent 24 drawing set. They have the dull/muted color and would fit in-the Mars Violet in that set looks very brown/brownish pink they could use those two purples and make it a 28 😂

I agreed I thought they really leaned into the bluish gray and muted colors. It’s going to be interesting finding new color combos especially with the grays and I think the pharma violet is going to blend well with these new options.

Hi Claire, I am sad about Lilac and Lavender no longer being available for one reason or another but looking at your beautiful swatches I quite like the new colors and I can see a place for them in my collection of Prismas. Thank you so much Claire, as always, you bring a source of excellence.

The electric blue is the worsssst.

New colors are pretty though not as bright as old ones. I prefer more natural-looking colors and prefer new ones. BTW I 'm curious about the lightfastness of the new colors.

I like the amethyst.

I think they are ok! It's nothing that's ever going to be as lovely as the Lavender! And I've been buying up as many of the lavender as possible of the art supplies stores I go to and can get them single stock! And they will be only used on special pictures that I will color. From a distance it's kinda hard to tell them apart! So they did a good job of trying to replace them with something that we can work with. But will be very sad to see the lavender and lilac go! They can make up for it and bring back some of the old neon colors would be nice! Especially the red! Deco colors they used to have would be nice also! Thank you for sharing! Thank you for this!! I like the lilac and lavender better... I'm glad I got 3 of each at Hobby Lobby when they were first discontinued. The new ones seem more dull but blended with other colors they could be brightened up.

I like the amethyst very much but will miss lavender when i run out. I managed to get a few of each of the old colors

Thanks so much for this comparison video Claire, it’s really helpful. I’m a bit disappointed that they are duller in colour, and lean a little bit cooler than the original L&L, but I will probably still buy them, knowing me 😄

I love the amethyst, but I am not crazy about the orchid as a replacement. On its one, it's very pretty.

I definitely find the new colors less vivid, especially in the case of the second one. The complete loss of the red violet look, all blue grayed down is quite disappointing to me. Are there other colors in the set that could be layered with the new one to make it look more red violet like the old one? Beautiful coloring of the butterfly, Claire. Did you have to use more pressure when using the Amazons to match the vividness of the Prismas?

Will the replacement of these colors effect your color chart at all?

In what set the orchid and amethyst available? I bought a new 150 set of prisma with the butterfly in the cover last black friday sale.. there's no more lilac and lavender but no amethyst and orchid.. they put an extra white and a colourless blender instead...

I can't find either the old or new in my 150. I made a swatch and those two are missing. 😢

New ones are pretty but I see the differences. Why would Prisma discontinue those colors?

Does anyone have any L&L they can sell me? I have been looking everywhere for them also Amherst and orchid can’t find them. But would love to have some L&L for my collection?

Disappointing really, I preferred the old ones.
