The original game was developed by introversion software, not double eleven. I guess double eleven took over when paradox bought the game.

They made all the console ports. Which are well done ports but they didn't fix anything ported it problems and all and then moved on too dlc

I also honestly expect Steam Workshop Support from Day 1. If not, it will be a tough sale, to be honest. Maybe a non-sale and I stick to the first one. I also expect Escape Mode and a Co-Op Multiplayer (for the Side of the Law AND Escape Mode) to be in the basic version. We can talk about stuff like Jungle, Desert, Arctic etc. themed Prisons or other time eras of Prison Building to be DLC stuff, that is fine.

To me, Paradox involved means tons of bugs which will be never fixed every update. But who cares, the objetive is selling lots of dlcs, not making a solid game...

I mean, it's still a solid game even if we know it will be broken. Most badass simulation games are made to be broken. I've personally always seen it as part of the fun. Games with that many interlocking parts are just like functioning equipment they are bound to break eventually either slowly or all at once. Admittedly, I'm always a fan of more polish but but when a couple thousand dice rolls are going on in the background, something is always going wrong somewhere most people just never notice.

definitely would pick up and play its a nice add on for multi story levels. Would also like to see if they can widen the incoming supply road instead of 1 lane maybe make 2 or in a sandbox mode have the customization of making your own route.

@Raptor You state at 1:07 that this game is from the *original* devs but as far as I can find the folks at Introversion Software are *not* involved in the making of this title. If your statement was a mistake perhaps you should write a comment to that effect and pin it.

For forty bucks it better be a complete game that is 99,9% bug free. And with a complete game I mean AT LEAST as many features as the base game of pa1. What I personally want to see in a game like this is depth of systems and (aesthetic) customization options. Many options of walls and fences and objects. Scrap that actually, I just want options in general... Rimworld is known for its depth and that's what makes that game great and it would be nice that pa2 lets you customize your prison so they don't all look the same.

Im with you! While graphics are a great thing to have, being older I am use to crappy graphics but I really look for depth of systems. I love intricate play and it seems like since the 2000's developers have dumbed down games. This one though I am hyped for and hope they polish this really well in terms of gameplay.

Hopefully, they actually add new content, not just make it 3D with multiple floors and take away content from the original game like no death row or no gangs.

If I'm not mistaken, Gangs should be included in the Warden's edition which will be released on the same day as the regular edition.

I don’t care about them selling DLC… as long as it’s a smooth running well optimised base to build upon… but yes some of the early DLCs included into the base would be a great start!

I've been wanting verticality so bad, most of my prisons are meant to be multiple story but aren't. I tried to even recreate Mount Massive Asylum in it and obviously it has a lot of floors. I've also built prisons where there are clearly cell blocks that would realistically be multiple stories. It'd be so cool to have generators and stuff in a basement, plus imagine the increased prisoner capacity when there are multi story cell blocks. Capacity could easily be doubled or quadrupled and end up in the thousands, especially with dormitories, which would be so realistic.

I kickstarted the original project and then lost track of what happened to the IP, but I'm pretty sure it got bought by Paradox or something and then development continued by a developer that was not the original guys. I think you can still download the original Prison Architect made by the OG devs and of course the Paradox version with who knows how many DLCs. If you are curious what the original devs are up to now, The Last Starship is their current project and it is rather good too! This sequel to prison architect does look like an interesting turn for the series, definitely keeping my eyes on the project.

Paradox took over and the people involved look like they're just kinda put out there. No thanks, I learned my lesson. Nowhere on the planet has working with a group of people with completely alien backgrounds and vast differences to one another ever been able to come together and create something of quality. C:S2 is en example of this.

prison architect 2 should implement elements from transport fever and transport fever 2. for example at the start of the game you start in the year 1890. prisoners arrive to the players prison either by prison train, boat or by horse drawn prison wagon. armed guards are armed with lever and bolt action rifles as well as shotguns and revolvers. by the mid to late 1890's semi automatic pistols start getting issued, but they're expensive and thus not widely adopted as of yet. you also have different methods of executions of death row inmates including old sparky (the electric chair), hangings, and firing squads. by the turn of the century prisoners would start to arrive by automobile, but they are still predominantly transported by train and horse drawn wagon as well as by boat. by the middle of the decade the first semi-automatic rifles and shotguns are introduced. later on, by the mid 1910's the first automatic rifles and submachine guns are introduced. thats my idea in a nutshell for what they should add to the game.

Prisons are more than just upgraded guns and getting prisoners there by car eventually, tho. Having to play from 1890 to present would suck; prison design and function has changed so much that prisons built in the 1930s and 1940s have been closed completely down for more modern facilities. Having to close/tear down a prison then build it completely from scratch doesn’t seem fun, nor would the bureaucracy simulator that would need to come with it.
