I had this ramp now a few years. Been sat outside all this time. Need to move some stuff around and get it in the shop.

Thanks Tony. You da MAN !!! Many years ago a body shop owner who just built a million dollar body shop told Me that the little jobs is where the money is at . 😮 after that little advise I have been doing that for 25 years 😊 working for the car Dealerships with a mobile unit. Recently a Dealership gave Me a bay to set up in ( free rent ) I'm learning small to medium rust repair. Your expertise has been most valuable, thank You again.

Never enough room in a shop. My friend has a ramp like that but he has a 1 1/2 stall garage. I have a 4 post lift which works okay for me.

Hi Tony. It's going to be nice to have that lift working! It should be interesting to see what the mechanism underneath looks like. It looks like a pretty old piece of equipment and is probably built like a tank!

Having a lift is a wonderful addition. Sorry i know you've said this a bunch of times but I would still add another bay to your shop.Maybe someday you'll change your mind.You;ll never regret haveing a lift thugh.

Old Chev , fired up no problem. Funny, can have a 20 car garage, and still not have enough room. That Peanut, always inspecting.

Hopefully it is in great shape or can be made that way quickly. That will sure save your back and knees instead of being on the floor and trying to get up. Peanut enjoying life. :)

Time to build that "greenhouse" to put things under to keep the weather off them. Can you get approval for a carport or is that considered to be a garage? Local bureaucracy is a nightmare, had issues here in Australia with it also.

That is the fist time I’ve seen a lift like that. The wheelbase of a pickup is only 10’-12’. So you’ll have lots of room.

Tony, i know your realize that if you enclose the air compressor that the temperature inside the enclosure will be hot in the summer and if there is a heat sensing circuit breaker to prevent the motor from frying, it will cause a lot of shutdowns. I have one on my compressor motor and I have to wait until everyting gets below a certain temperature in order to push the reset button. I know my set up is not factory and I purchased it used. Just be aware of the temperature buildup inside the enclosure. Fresh air to the unit will not aid this situation and it would be disheartening to have your ears happy and your wallet empty.

Not sure if I Heard you correctly but is that a scissor Jack style. If so you will need to move the lift forward so you don't put the back of the car through your garage door. Ask me how I know. A ladder on a roof rack.
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
I will have to make sure the door is closed .might look into extending the tracks so the door is higher.

Neat lift, Tony. As an option to buy you more space, could the lift be narrowed up a foot? I suspect its width is such that you could drive a dually truck up on it, which you’re not likely to do. Might gain you another foot on the wall side. 👍
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
I been sizing all that up. We will see after I get it working what I will do.
@bchant199 ай бұрын
Hey now Tony lots and lots of work done as per usual. Just a thought but maybe you should consider moving the big compressor outside the shop rather than boxing it in. You'd gain a lot of space and it'd be nice to be inside its own little shed/ lean to outside of the shop.
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
I love to do that but I have to build a shed or a piece on the garage to store it in. So much on the go and I just want to keep dust off it.
@bchant199 ай бұрын
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp yeah too many projects. Don't suppose Canadian tyre do cheap pre fab storage sheds?
@briangardner57649 ай бұрын
I take it you don't have enough room in your center stall for the floor lift. Because where you plan on having it now you are going to have to pull the vehicle out and spin it to work on the other side because of a lack of room on the wall side.
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
There is over 2 feet off the wall and no won't fit in middle bay
@BrucePierson9 ай бұрын
What is that black sedan that you moved to get the alignment lift out from under it? Looks slightly like an FJ Holden that we had here in Australia in the 50's

It's my 51 chevy deluxe had that now over 8 years now.
@aussiedazvk4djh8899 ай бұрын
G'day Tony. How would it go with some casters under the lift so it stops about an inch off the ground and the lift picks it's self off the ground to move it around the shop?
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
Won't fit nowhere else.
@user-ot7ec4uc3g9 ай бұрын
You might have cut it already, but wouldn't it be easier to remove the front stepped sections to make it shorter??????
@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp9 ай бұрын
I kine to keep the Sisson lift centered. What ever I cut from the front I have to remove from the back.
@user-ot7ec4uc3g9 ай бұрын
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp I thought of that after I had written it. How hard would it be to relocate the lift mechanisms to the " new " centre of the table. Just noticed how you spell " center " . Don't you spell the English language way???
@user-js4vh2lw6n9 ай бұрын
Hey Tony got a question for you. How bad is it going to effect you being able to get the old car off the overhead storage behind your welding table when you put the new lift in?
