@Silver749 What? I have 17 games on my pc and I only have 1TB ssd for games (and a 256gb one for windows and programs) and still have like 140gb left. I have AAA titles too like Horizon Zero Dawn, AC Odyssey, Miles Morales, GTA V, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, and multiple medium sized games like Fortnite/Skyrim. You can comfortably use just 1tb storage (though I agree consoles should have more just because having more space is always nice, but at least you can add up to 4TB aditional storage), unless you're the type that installes 100 games at once without touching some of them for months. I doubt anyone would play 17+games simultaneously (I do occasionaly delete the ones I haven't played in a few weeks at all) to feel like 1TB storage ain't enough

PS5 Slim look fantastic , one thing I like is the design style I remember ps2 slim 2004 was small than PS2 original 2000 , the console was so easy to carry , ps2 slim still look great for 19 years

I was hesitant to pick one of these up because of all the comments online saying that it looks like it feels cheap. When I first picked this thing up however, it feels like it'ts got some good weight to it and the panels I feel they are on par with what Sony has been putting out on the OG PS5. It's a lot more user friendly when it comes to removing panels, replacing the removable disc drive & installing an internal M.2 SSD. I feel like this design will grow on most people. The original PS5 design I wasn't a huge fan of but it still grew on me. The new one is growing on me as well and I can appreciate the smaller footprint it leaves on my entertainment center. The split-gap is something I am looking forward to getting rid of with the new dBrand plates coming out.

This was pretty helpful for when my digital PS5 slim comes in, i've preferred the look of the Slim when it was first revealed and I like how the stands look, they're pretty cool imo. This is a definite upgrade from the ps4, my ps4 sounds like a jet plane and/or sounds like it'll implode when playing certain games (like Monster Hunter World and Dead by Daylight).

I went with the original version as managed to get £100 off in a Black Friday sale. That was the deciding factor for me. But it is massive. The other thing is fan noise. My PS4 was like a jet engine so this PS5 is very quiet when gaming.

That’s a great deal. Worth it. Went with the slim version full price, personally. Thermals and sound have been reported to be around the same as the larger one, but the smaller size was the key thing for me. Not a fan of the glossy top half, though.

I don't believe there will be noticeable difference unless you upgrade your TV as well. And you'll have to put your big ps5 pro under the table too😂 jk. The slim looks cheaper visually compared to the original PS5 The only plus point is the bit extra storage other than that i feel one is better off going with the original ps5 + ssd if your main priority is not getting a somewhat smaller sized console..

What would be better is if there where the lines that separate on the PS5 Slim glow blue instead of middle to include a different visual change, that would look better in my opinion, and also include the stand with the price, but instead they took the greedy Apple marketing approach which is a no-go to buy it. If you don't have a PS5 I would recommend still buying the original since it's Black Friday and Cyber monday deals you can get it for a lower price.

Overall, I think your review is pretty insightful, but I think it would’ve been nice if you had gone a bit deeper and commented on the build quality of these two consoles. I’ve had the original PlayStation, as well as the PlayStation two slim, skipped out on the three and four, And I’m jumping right into the five. I’ve heard all of these have outstanding build quality, and I know from experience that my PlayStation one, and two were most certainly excellently built, but it would’ve been nice if you had commented on the build quality, in terms of durability, and such as that.

one problem another guy noticed is the fan is more exposed at the top(it has zero grates unlike the og version) but this shouldn’t discourage you from buying the slim. Just buy a dust cover to protect from dust when you’re not using it (and buy a cleaning kit to brush off the dust if any slip through) Also the gloss can be a problem but just buy a microfiber cloth to remove the fingerprints easy. these are the only problems i see with the slim.

Great review, really put my mind at ease, I think my only grip is the horizontal stand/legs. kind wish there was a bigger stand or maybe a stand built into one of the panels that can be swapped with the top panel beside the disc drive. it would make it more uniform at the bottom with the disc drive and less chance of breaking.

When it comes to look the disk version looks better on the old ps5 and when it comes to digital I really don’t mind.

Mine just arrived today for my son’s Xmas present. We only own a ps4 so this is a great upgrade for us both. A few hours overtime and I’ll hopefully be able to get a 2Tb SSD in time for Xmas!
