I haven't seen the new red yet, and the orange has two trains of newer cars, unless they've added more in the last few months. But it's good for the red line; they've been long awaiting new cars.

If you are wondering as of now. All the old orange line cars have retired.

I know. I posted that comment February of last year, and in the intervening period, a lot has happened on the orange line. One thing that hasn't happened is my encountering a single new red line car, still.

Yes! Except for the words "Alewife", "Braintree", "Ashmont", "Forest Hills" and "Oak Grove". They're from the announcements that tells us the next train arrives in 5 minutes, up to 20 minutes.
