A new report has claimed that China has a secret military base in Tajikistan. The base is said to be close to Afghanistan's border with Tajikistan. It is believed to be a fully equipped military facility with perimeter walls for protection, a watchout tower and a helipad. Chinese and Tajik soldiers are believed to be stationed here.
Both China and Tajikistan have denied the story. But it is believed the two countries are planning a second facility near the Afghanistan border.
Observers say this military base is supposed to protect China's security interests in the region - especially against the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Palki Sharma tells you more.
