Hey guys! Today I am excited to share with you my thoughts on the new Natasha Denona Retro palette! I was thrilled to see this release on instagram and snagged it as quickly as I could! And today I will share my thoughts as well as 2 LOOKS with this pretty palette. After testing it and swatching it, has my enthusiasm waned? I will share with you my answer! I hope you enjoy this one! I bought this as soon as it was available. I love the color story! I know many wanted the greens but I like this one. I saw ND on a live Instagram and she said she's not done with the retro palettes that there's more to come. I look forward to that one as well. Love your look!❤

I’d love to see swatch comparisons to the Colourpop palettes. At first glance, the cooler toned shadows from this palette remind me of my favorite Wet n Wild quad/quint, Petalette. I love the light purple shimmer and the plummy color from that quad and always look for similar shades when I buy better quality single shadows.

I swatched the two CP palettes Mandy mentioned on Friday, and threw in two shades from the CP Taupe palette to dupe the Jude and Opart shades. Almost shade to shade dupes for every color.

Also: Mel Thompson did a GREAT video 4 months ago where she used Sydney Grace shadow singles to make her interpretation of what a retro palette based off the mini would look like! It's beautiful, UNIQUE, and though it may be more expensive, I'll be recreating her version for what a "retro" palette should be. I am still looking forward to what ND comes out with for a green retro palette.

She's supposedly coming out with another retro palette that plays on the greens! That being said, I didn't think I was interested in this one until I saw your video. Am I a mauve/berry girl? Not sure, but your looks are soo pretty!

I like her looks too but I don’t think they were anything special. For the cost of that palette the shimmers didn’t look all that special in my opinion. But she looks pretty in any look she does.

I’m so excited to hear she’s coming out with another retro palette! I think most everyone was a bit disappointed this was supposed to be the retro. While it’s a beautiful palette (like Mandy said, this was my vision for the Love palette), we wanted more of those grungy greens!

I’m not going to lie. I was excited when I heard about this palette, but then disappointed when I saw pictures. I was hoping there’d be green/gray shades like in the mini retro. The looks you created are beautiful.

Mandy, I’ve been watching makeup videos for years and out of all the beauty KZfaqrs you are by far (very far) the absolute best. You apply your eyeshadows in a simply gorgeous way that they are not too much yet are stunning. You always explain the colors in the pallets and compare to similar ones one may have or are less expensive to purchase. You are exceptional!!! Thank you for your time!

ND has hinted that she's planning on bringing out a green palette, so there might be something in the next 12 months. :) I might pick this one up in the future, but until then I have plenty of shades like this one.

Two beautiful eye looks! This is supposed to be the retro version of the Glam palette. She said in her IG live that there's more to come in the retro line. I'm allergic to the Colourpop formula, and the quality is no rival to ND in my opinion. However, I do probably have most of the shades in my Sydney Grace collection. 🙂 Still excited about receiving my Retro palette tomorrow.

Valid point about CP but the quality is way different. My CP palettes from last year have lost so much pigment and crumbly. My Nd is still on point. Love your videos.

I actually decluttered my CP palettes that had similar colors as soon as I got my retro in bc of that! I'd rather have them in the better formula. However, if I couldn't afford or didn't want to spend the money on the ND one I would happily take the CP as an alternative. Another CP that reminded me of it was the menage a muah

I adore these dusty rose matte shades so very much. I immediately did my eye makeup when i opened my package with this palette hahaha. I got the bundle with the glam palette so I'll be trying that soon. I don't wear a ton of neutral looks but it's nice to have them for sexy classy looks and both the palettes fit in that category lol

Originally I was disappointed in the color story thinking of what I had wished it had been… like the mini. Seeing it for what it IS however makes me appreciate it. It’s beautiful, subtle and a fresh Natasha Denona take on berries for the fall. I just love the midi size. I’ll never, and let’s face it, most of us makeup lovers won’t ever hit pan in our palettes, so I appreciate the lower price point with similar number of shades.

So I absolutely was going to purchase this palette, because I bought a Love palette that had a couple bad shades that where patchy and would migrate. I actually through two shades out from the palette don't know if there are other bad shades, because i haven't used the palette since. Your first eye look is amazing! I stopped the video to write abs to save your video in a file. Looking forward to seeing your night time look.

I am also obsessed with blush pink (with hidden shimmer, of course 😍) I call it Mary Kay pink. I've even considered painting my car, lol! And the funny part is that I'm pretty sure I've never even seen Mary Kay make-up 🤷🏽‍♀️😁

I don't know if it's been stated in the comments already, but, the Mauves palette from Profusion is very similar to this and is five bucks. May not be the exact same quality, (although the quality is very, very good, great pigmentation), but, if someone wanted the looks without dropping the bucks, it's an option.

Now, I've watched so many reviews and tutorials on this palette and most look the same. You've achieved 2 beautiful and not the same as others! I love your take and application on this, but I'm not convinced it's versatile. Also the menage a muah palette from colourpop has the same vibes too. 🥰💞

I think it would have been way more unique if it looked more like the mini retro - I don’t have those shades multiple times in my collection. This one looks like so many others, 1000x over. $65 saved!

I love the look of this palette but it’s just a little too ‘same same’ for me to want to buy it at $65. I would LOVE to see dupes/comps of Sydney Grace shadows and ones in the Retro palette if that’s something you’d have an interest in doing! Love the looks you did and thanks for the review!

I want to want this palette so badly. If it were a little deeper, like the promo/website photos, I would totally jump on it! "groove", "rebellion" and "swing" are too red for me. Your looks are gorgeous though, so I will probably purchase whatever dupe Alter Ego comes out with (and I look forward to your comparison video!).
