Hello from UK 4 weeks now….I have moved from Flex cordless 15 to the Rupes cordless 21 I was constantly frustrated with stalling on the flex (maybe my bad technique😂) The Rupes has much more torque, hardly any stalling & is a joy to use😊
@jtm1979

15 is underpowered though. It stalls almost as much as Flex. 21 is strong, but my unit keeps turning off if i add medium pressure. So its kinda unusable to me other than light polishing. So 21 is powerfull but unusable and 15 is weak. Not great Rupes.

They are beautiful looking machines no doubt about it. I would love to own one but a $700 price point is insane to me. Especially since I am not a detailer by trade and just someone who loves to maintain my car.

Consider that it includes $140 worth of pads and liquids that could correct several vehicles. And they will have a cheaper kit without that in the near future. If you compare a kit with polisher, two batteries and a charger, the RUPES is $5 less than Flex and only $60 more than Milwaukee.

$700 fuck that’s cheap as they are a cheap $1800 each one with 2 batteries and a charger. Cheap as chips. Everything in this country costs double or triple what it’s worth in the US. And we have maybe a third of the choices available and most places don’t have stock on hand and needs ordering in or has to come from overseas, I waited 2 months for one Subaru air dam to come from Japan over Xmas as there wasn’t one anywhere in Australia. Triple the prices and triple the wait times. If it’s available here you’ll find it’s available but can’t be sent outside of the US. So much for a global economy. How our dollar is worthless to the rest of he worlds leading currencies with an infinite amount of natural resources and all in the country but when they are given away and overseas companies are talons them for next to nothing and making billions and billions and we tax payers prop them up with subsidised grants and funding and they pay zero taxes. This why our dollars worth shit.

better tool for you is something like the milwaukee, they had a deal recently for 299 for tool plus 6AH high output battery. or honestly just like a regular storebought corded tool. if it’s the one car you should only need to use the tool once a year if that

Pan, I purchased a new LHR15 Mark III about 2 years ago. I love using it. I have no doubt that the new battery powered machine is awesome and worthy of the price to a true professional. But someone like me, an enthusiast, I would never be able to justify the price. In addition, the cost of my divorce wouldn’t be worth the buy! 😂😂 Always nice to know about any new product being introduced into the market and I always enjoy when I get notification of a new video from “Paaannnn the Organizer”. I purchased the Lhr 21 simply because I have a 35 foot Grand Design Solitude RV and a GMC Duramax dually. The panels on the RV are huge and vertical. I didn't have to worry about the battery clearance and had to get used to the trigger. Zero problems with running out of battery power and Zero pad stall. I will purchase the 15 soon. Thanks Pan.

21:57 when Matt used it to polish the single-stage paint, the battery did reduce the power to the polisher when it was lower than half charge. I believe Carlos Serrano also had the same thing happen to him. Maybe they had defective units if it isn’t meant to reduce cutting capability when the battery goes lower than half.

I bought both. I got a shipping notification from OG last Thursday, so they should be here this week. Can’t wait. I hope they truly are anti-stall like everyone is saying. My Flex XFE is incredibly annoying on any non-flat surface. My old $50 griots stalls significantly less.
@DrCeramicDallas
@DrCeramicDallas 4 ай бұрын
It definitely is NOT anti-stall. It is in fact completely unusable in my experience especially with the yellow Rupes pads it stalls immediately on any non-flat surface. With microfiber pads it works much better. I've tried the "washer mod" and it has helped quite a lot but still nowhere as nice as my Mark III. i am thinking their hard non-padded backing plate might be a reason for this.

Porter Cable is always a decent choice. It is tried and true and offers a lot of flexibility. Or you could go with some of the lower cost long throw options. Adams, Maxshine, Torq, etc. But keep in mind, the higher cost options like Rupes are typically serviceable and will also be much less harsh on the end user. A Porter Cable polisher and some of the other cheaper options will vibrate your hands after extended use to the point where you will not enjoy it. If it was me, I’d try and find a used corded Rupes or Flex. People put them up for sale all the time. I think you can even rent them in some cases.

Great review and info. I think this polisher will be an excellent tool for those in the detailing industry similar to the LHR line. All that said, I am surprised at some of the negative comments in here. Maybe folks that are either not familiar with Rupes or just not willing to pay for the higher quality tools. I always think that paying more for tools is smart if you intend to use them enough. You can get cheapo tools that will come close to what the more expensive ones accomplish, albeit with no ability to service them and likely a pretty significant gap in quality and smoothness this company is known for. I have used several polishers in my time and Rupes seems to deliver better on quality and lower NVH. Sign me up for the HLR15!!!

Pan: I have been using my EGO 765cfm blower for a couple of weeks. The unthinkable happened yesterday afternoon. I dried the car with the blower and moved on to the wheels. When I moved to the rear wheel, I heard a plastic/metallic screech and then a bunch of plastic part came shooting out of the blower. They hit the tires so there was no damage. However, imagine if I had been aiming it at painted areas of my car. Looked online and apparently it was the blade cracking and disintegrating. Although most such reports were about Ryobi leaf blowers. This morning, I went to Lowe's to return it and bought another identical 765cfm blower. However, I'm super nervous about using it on my car again. :(

I've had the 15mm for a week and it's absolutely incredible. Hands down the best polisher I've used. I didn't need the full kit only the tool and batteries but I was forced to buy the kit because that's the only thing the offered. My old polisher actually died so needed to buy this vs waiting for tool/battery kit only. The price is rough plus they aren't offering an interchangeable 6 inch backing plate yet for the 15mm. At the end of the day it's phenomenal but it will probably price some people out.

How so? It includes $140 worth of pads and liquids. If you take those away and compare to kits (with the machine, two batteries and charger) from Flex and Milwaukee...the Flex is $5 more and the Milwaukee is only $60 less. Having used a Flex and owned a Milwaukee...the Flex is nowhere near as powerful and the Milwaukee is a much less refined. I just got my HLR15 and the difference is huge. The lighter weight, perfect balance and extremely low amount of vibration is a game changer. I can hold it at full extension (such as reaching over a large hood/roof) and the perfect balance gives me excellent control and far less strain on my body. I would say it is worth every penny. And if you already have all the pads/liquids you currently need...they will have kits without that in the future.

The Milwaukee 15mm has more torque and stalls much much less. But it is louder and heavier and uglier...

What’s the best mid tier to higher end polisher for a personal 4 /5 vehicle garage. Corded and cordless for Paint correction, polishing, applying sealers and waxes. Milwaukee, Rupes is it worth the investment if not a professional?

If you have the budget and want the best of the best, Rupes or Flex are the top dogs. If you want the best value for money, here's my current pick for a cordless polisher: tinyurl.com/2u7zfx3a

I bought this new Rupes cordless polisher. I was able to use it a couple of times before it died on me, on it's way to rupes for repair. I also noticed lack of power , and the batteries in my kit are made in China, not USA as expected. I believe I got a defected unit.

Boy, I've been waiting for this. Just looking at it, i want one. I wouldn't "put it away." I would leave it out to look at. Lol. For me, the big selling point is the weight. Im not all that strong and would appreciate the low weight and the smoothness. There is nothing worse than a d.a. beating the crap out of you while polishing. Yes, it's very pricey, but it's also a one-time investment. I would very much appreciate feedback from owners that have them now. Very good review, Pan. Thank you for purchasing these for the review for us.

Those are dual action right? Not really a fan of them I love rotary polishers. Gets the job done faster.. especially because I spray cars so mostly I cut the clear coat with micro Sandpapers to get a smoother finish..

Do you know if Rupes has any plans to come out with a cordless rotary like the LH19E Are you a fan of rotary polishers or should I just go with random orbitals
@jeffc6832
@jeffc6832 4 ай бұрын
I would say yes. I just saw a video where Todd from RUPES stated that the polyfiber gear set in these machines was originally developed for improvements to the rotary polisher. Also during the TRCMA livestream yesterday, someone asked about it and they got pretty coy about it. The same way they had for years when asked about cordless Bigfoot DA's. My guess is we'll see something at SEMA this year or next.

The Rupes is more highly engineered for sure. Much lighter weight, better ergonomics, smoother operation, less vibration and certainly much less noise while operating. You get what you pay for with polishers.

Mr Pan I have a question I have carpro cquartz on my wife's suv can I use carpro essence+ to polish a few areas or would this remove the ceramic coating?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 4 ай бұрын
CarPro Essence+ (not the regular Essence) was designed to remove VERY LIGHT marring on ceramic coated vehicles. So it won't damage your coating. It's a non abrasive polish with fillers and SiO2 protection in it to rejuvenate CarPro coatings. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZfaq as we surpassed 990,000 subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.

I think that between pads and the compounds you have about 150 USD and the extra battery with the dual charger it'll easily 100 more so the machine itself with just the battery and maybe a single charger it's about 500 It's pricey but not something that won't be recovered in a few jobs

Do you also feel this is less powerful than the Mark 3? I’ve been using it and honestly I am not very happy with the performance. The stalling is a big problem with foam pads when you get close to any curved edge. Rupes claims this is more powerful than the Mark 3, correct?

@@jeffc6832you can’t get it to stall on a flat surface, yes. It WILL stall if you even slightly approach a curved panel. I am a professional. I have the Mark III and there’s no question the Mark III is so much more powerful. Im making a comparison video on my channel very soon.

It was only polished once when I took delivery brand new, before we applied the ceramic coating. I haven’t had the need to repolish in the three years I owned. If you used safe washing and drying methods, you shouldn’t need to repolish your car for a few years.

I really want to go cordless, but needing three different battery systems seems very inefficient and unfair.. Rupes needs to take notes from the big tool companies and pair it down.
@jeffc6832
@jeffc6832 4 ай бұрын
There's nothing unfair about it. These are three different polishers with very different form factors and power needs. There is no one size fits all battery option that would provide acceptable form, weight and power needs.

Remember that it comes with $140 of pads and liquids. If you exclude that and compare the cost of the polisher, charger and two batteries (which is a package that Rupes will be selling soon) the Rupes is actually $5 cheaper than the comparable Flex cordless kit, and only $60 more than the Milwaukee cordless kit.
