I never paid attention to the "meta" when Waluigi was the best, since the first day I played every single race with Toadette because i love her, but i’m happy that Kamek is here, i liked him on tour too even if i don’t play anymore, so i guess i’ll use him from now on since he’s in the meta (:

That sounds like me. I do use the Kamek with Teddy Buggy, but I prefer to use very uncommon combos that no one else uses 🤣

Troy, buddy do u have any advice for how I can get better in Mario Kart 8 deluxe online. So far I got 11,041 points I the Regional and I think last week I managed to get 7 GPs in 1st place.

Yeah! Toadette was a really fun character to use. She was great to use with Mach 8 and GLA Tires. Pretty upset to see that her class has stats now with low speed while having the same mini-turbo as Yoshi. It shouldn't be the weight class that has the worst stats on deluxe currently as far as speed, mini-turbo and even traction. Hopefully it gets better and becomes the meta combo on Wave 6, but we should see what happens when Funky Kong arrives though because he should be world record character on deluxe also and he's a heavyweight character and since Wave 4 many things changed to make heavyweight characters less likely world record characters on mk8dx. Back when Waluigi was the best, the meta probably has Wario and Waluigi as the two best characters for people to use on mk8dx. Now that Kamek has meta stats, you can use him with teddy buddy a lot even on time trials.

on vancouver velocity, all 3 of the blind upward slopes lead into left turns, which can be helpful to remember for learning / figuring out the track

As someone who has stubbornly always played as Luigi I love that he’s up there with the best now 🙂 gutted Baby Luigi isn’t quite there and got nerfed slightly but let’s hope they give the babies some love in wave 6

I really think MK8 DX should add the ability to swap your items like in Double Dash. That way, you wouldn't have to spam the item in the first slot to get to your item in the second slot and you could choose what item the Boo steals. It would make item use feel more strategic and less chaotic, imo.

I've really been enjoying Luigi + Yoshi Bike (or Sport Bike) + Rollers (or Sponge lol for sport) + Paper. Been getting consistent top 6 placements and a good bit of 1st's in 8k-10k lobbies

TWD, I have to say, thank you for showing me that even a player of your caliber still gets Mario-Karted from time to time, and still has races that you don't know as well. I used to grow so frustrated playing Mario Kart because of those two things, but you've helped me relax and just enjoy the game :) Also helped me realize I'm not nearly as good as I thought I was XD

I like the long videos but I do not mind a solid 30 minute video every once in awhile, seriously Troy I want to see all of your videos and play this game at the same time but the length of the videos can make that kind of hard

I ran some numbers and I think Landship/Standard Tires/Standard Glider Dry Bones might be viable, if you're interested in trying it out. It's probably not top meta, but it might be the strongest way to play Dry Bones.

Kamek is the only new S-tier character who I've seen in this video. Also the streetle is supposed to be a good vehicle, but I don't know why the streetle sucks for me for some reason. When I used the pipe frame and the cat-cruiser it went alot better in online races.

Calculating with the hard-coded stat-multipliers... I think this combo has a very good chance of being "best overall": Petey Piranha, Tanooki Kart, GLA Tires, Plane Glider.

Instead of playing until you get 1st, what about playing until you get 50 VR? So from 24,350 to 24,400 or something like that. That way you can move onto other combos quicker but still get to see data about how well you did. I do really like the long videos, though :)

You are an amazing racer. However, I don't know if you're Machiavellian enough to be the best Mario Kart racer. You've got the tactics, hand eye coordination, and know how but I think this game also requires you to be sick and twisted and unforgiving. You're NICE!

iirc Streetle is the same as teddy buggy (speed wise) on normal ground, slightly worse in the air and anti grav, but way better in the water and with improved traction
