Man I was going to write this but saw your comment. I dont understand what they want, samsung for one has been improving their flip and fold for generations just cause it almost looks like the previous gen and has same display (fokding display has a layer reducrion ) doesnt mean they have not updated the phone.

It’s a new phone, certainly there will be some upgrade, but there is not a big difference between the last gen and this new gen. So very little difference between flip 5 and flip 6 so unless you have a flip that is 2-3 gen old you are not missing much.

I have heard many ppl say the iPhone is boring, I think Marques has said it a bunch of times before in the past right? I really can't remember. Heck all companies make boring phones now as there is only so much you can do with them now, the entire front you stare at all day is a full screen so I'm not even sure what you can even do with that. It's a stagnating thing across the board as phones are powerful enough and you can't really do a full on change as idk what you can change at this point compared to 12 years ago. Just a specs bump internally and some upgraded cameras and a few other things here and there but that's really all I can see what anyone can do. Unless it can make me waffles for breakfast in the morning or something, as far as that I really think there should be a 3 year release cycle at this point, I really see no point in these yearly release cycles anymore but that's just me. Most it's just what they do with software but I'm kinda tired of this AI crap that is just a gimmick and we only need a handful of things but they will try to add so much useless other stuff that will not be used by most average users and it just eat up storage space and background resources and drain battery life. At this point it's best to just wait 2 years when they stop trying to push crap we don't need and focus on a handful of features that is more useful.

As a long time Samsung fan, this isn't about the design. I would've loved it if they kept the S21 series' design for a decade, it was the perfect design imo. The problem with Samsung is that for the 3rd straight year, their Fold flagship still has the same cameras, battery capacity and charging speeds. While Chinese manufacturers are giving us 1 inch sensors, floating lens periscope cameras, 100w charging, Samsung is relying on their faithfuls to buy their phones.

The only things I'd love for Apple to change on the iphone is removing the dynamic island, and having a new rear camera design because ive never been the biggest fan of the mickey mouse looking cameras

Then the AI features aren't for you... I mean?? The same can be said about the S-Pen, but it's a nice feature and option to have if you do need it.

I mainly use the ai for improving photos and videos, removing certain things from pictures, and asking random questions that I'm too lazy to look up

I use them especially the language one...my German friend now chats with me in German and it translates instantly

Do people actually care about the cloud based ai features? I don't know anybody that really uses them. The generative fill is the only kinda useful one and if you've used it before it's hilariously unreliable. Straight up try to erase a car from the scene and it'll generate a different car in its place, try to remove that new car and it'll generate a trailer in its place. It doesn't seem to like removing things, just replacing them

​@@SnakeFire3Yeah, the AI has it's merits , but a lot of the time for general daily usage , it seems way over hyped , while the AI thing may have some legit usefulness in some areas , a lot of it appears to be very gimmicky. The example shown where the guy drew the Eiffel tower and some stars and the AI came up with fireworks was just laughable, would you even bother😊. Maybe I'm wrong , but a lot of these what seem like whizz bang features at release , like the AR stuff seem to very quickly get forgotten until the next gimmick comes along.

Had the Fold 4. Just bought the Z 6 and got it. Still a narrow screen but wide enough to use it one-handed. I believe Samsung got the perfect formula: a mini phone when folded and a tablet when unfolded.

@chinedulou6714 the user interface it's what brings me back every time, the multitasking, dex. I think people misunderstood the ideas of the outer screen, it was ment to view notifications and scroll through media not to type or work with it, for that you opened the big screen. But because people want a wider phone now we have a square phone. Movies and videos aspect ratio it's usually 16:4 making the big screen useless for entertainment unless you zoom in but now you only see 1/3 of the film.

Because this aspect ratio makes the phone usable with one hand when closed. It's actually perfect and i hope they keep this aspect ratio for the front screen

I don’t understand the need to have huge changes every year? Especially when the flip 6 did add quite a few big ones. I feel like everyone got used to going from the 3 to 4 to 5, they forgot how most phones iterate now days. There’s just not much huge things to change when they already made a pretty good phone. Especially when the big focus this year was making it on par with every other phone, it was a needed change

Marquez main phone is S24 ultra actually 😂 his iPhone it's just for the Camera stuff like shooting in his "AutoFocus" channel

Slightly wider outside screen, better overall design (especially that front screen with the symmetrical bezels), better battery life thanks to the new chip, bigger cooling system, longer software support (7 years vs 4), and a pretty big jump in durability (on paper anyway) If none of that interests you then get the fold 5, it already has all the actually good AI features anyway from a software update 😂

The Fold 5 will eventually get the new AI features anyway. The Fold 5 is just fine as long as you are ok with sacrificing the lighter weight and slightly wider outside screen on the Fold 6.

I have a Galaxy flip 4 and am upgrading to Razr. Just waiting on my order. Don’t understand the hysterical part of it just know I’m excited

Both his reasons being the front screen not being full screen and then that camcorder mode lol (that Samsung has on its flip) The lack of literal understanding of these products and creating lackluster opinions is what I’m finding hysterical

@@walterwatts385 what you stated makes kore sense. I am going from a Bora Purple Galaxy Z Flip 4 to a Razr next week. Preordered it with a good price and I get to try different software and something new with a bigger screen than what I have. Also the ability to use almost any app without tinkering is going to be fun. The reason I will not go to a Galaxy Flip 6. Also that price hike is a lot. I also preordered the Galaxy Watch Ultra the same day with $380 off. I rather use that extra $100 on that watch. Also Razr is coming out to $552. Yeah Tmobile has it for a random price.

I bet you there'll be a time where you are happy about those AI features. I use them rarely too, but there have been some occasions where it was super helpful

I agree- lose the 'too cool for things we don't like' attitude. Bring back the curiosity, the informative discussions, and the insightful commentary about the industry. Last 2 months of the pod have been losing the edge you had before.

They had the phones to test prior to the event, some of them attended and the other guy was testing it out as far as I know.

You can just remove the screen protector if you dont wanna get it replaced. Btw, all classic phones also require you to spend money for a screen protector

@@ezBeanie I don't think you quite understand how the protector on flip and Fold phones work. If you take them off or if they start coming off, the display itself stops working. And upon that, replacing these screen protectors costs much higher then your regular screen protectors. Just look for the issues people have faced in the long term usage of these phones!

@@LifeInTheAquarium2022 No, this is not the Fold 1 we are talking about. You can remove the protector that might start to peel off without having to replace it. (As i did with my fold 4 for the last 12 months that i used it.) The phone and screen works fine without the preapplied screen protector since the Fold 2

@@LifeInTheAquarium2022 Also, my fold 4 was a brick durability wise. I removed the screen protector when it started to peel of and used it for 2 years without a case. It is actually quite durable.

Just check the device out in person, hold it in your hand, open it, use it. It feels alot better in hand and looks much better than the fold 4. I had the 4 too and they definitely improved a ton on the 6!
