It's New truck collection day!
So after 6 year's and 622,000 kms/ 388,750 miles it's time to say goodbye to my daily driver the SCANIA R 560 V8, and update to our New SCANIA S 580 V8 at Rory Lynch Transport.

Congrats to the new S580! Its also nice to see the good condition of your old R560. Not easy to keep that in 6 years of groupage work, like you did. Im happy to see you guys keeping the R560 and the 164 480 running in your fleet. Would be nice to see them lined up next to each other. Greetings from Germany !

For whatever it's worth - what you do is valuable for others to see and learn from. Everything is told "as is". That's what's needed by both other drivers and by truck manufacturers.

Who are you minding the bed and carpet curtains etc. for. It’s better take them off from day 1 and use everything like it was designed for. The interior looks better with all that plastic taken out

I met a young apprentice mechanic at a repair shop here in Vancouver, Canada named Brian, originally from Ireland, that worked at T. Nolan Scania! Great video as always! Cheers!

Good luck with the new truck cuz, I worked in America 30 odd years. Mostly fleet trucks which were the bare, basic workhorse. Many times wished for a European truck especially getting into tight spots. But it was always great to get a brand new truck. I knew your dad back in the day, I ran my own operation in Kilkenny. Anyway whether he remembers me or not give him my best regards.

I had a sudden stiffness of my steering and it turned out to be the gaitor on the bottom of the steering column, take the shroud of by the foot brake the gaitor was tightly wrapped around the column stopping the the steering wheel from turning, scania fitter said it's a common fault and knew what it was straight away 10min job removed it no problem ,3yr old truck. 👍👍👍

Stavros, that R looked just like factory lol. Johnie is a good man, maybe next time let him paint the R like the diesel cap it won't come off. Okay enough fun about that, you and Johnie did a good job getting the trucks fixed back up. I hope you enjoy the new truck and I hope one day I get a chance to see a SCANIA in person. Moving from one truck to the other is worse then sitting in traffic all day. Glad I didn't have to do that to often. Wish you the best with the new truck.

the next time you spray paint something remember to remove immediatly the tape, you'll get clean edges
