New Seats for the C5 Corvette!

Hey 4K Fans! Welcome back to the channel. Today we have a major improvement for the 2001 Corvette, Corbeau Seats! We chose their A4 line of reclining sport seats to replace the aged factory Corvette Sport Seats, and we are majorly impressed! Check out the install and the final product! These seats were purchased with our own money and not sponsored in any way.

Those are nice seats, a friend just put some of those in his c5 they are very nice and definitely keep you from sliding around in your seat but I guess I am too old school, love my original ones, great video 👍👍👍😎

The original seats did have a few features I would have liked to keep, but they were definitely showing their age!

Definitely! Glad I didn't have to modify the vehicle to install them as well. That said, I'm not sure why anyone would put the stock seats back in 🤷‍♂️

I love the look and style of the seat, but I absolutely hate the fact it says Corbeau so big and generic looking. I’d rather it not say anything so it looks more factory and clean, but that’s just my personal preference. Good vid regardless. 👍🏻

Style is definitely a personal choice, but the driving experience is far improved with them

I would definitely recommend them! For what it's worth, the cloth versions start around $899, and as I mentioned I was able to sell my old seats as-is in less than an hour for $400.

@@4KMotoring that’s awesome! I’m a few years away before I can get a C5 but looking forward to swapping out the OEM seats for these ! Thanks for posting this tutorial, definitely will help me out ! How did you bypass the seatbelt notification warning light?

Believe it or not, I actually didn't get a light. Not sure how the circuit is designed, but I did notice there was a control module under the seat. My guess is with the harness unplugged it just doesn't send a signal back at all for the seat belt so it doesn't trigger an error

I have these exact seats...and got them 10 years ago...they just now started to show their age...and I have a bit of a little hole where the stitching has started to fail on the driver side where my butt slides across the side bolster when getting into the car. Would I order these seats again? Yes, but i would recommend trying to get the seatbelt thru the rear head rest holes so that the seatbelt can slide more easily.

The factory seats were quite comfortable, but it got to be exhausting trying to brace yourself against the door when driving in the twisties

Nope! The C5 seems to not care, but I've heard the C6 does

Corbeau makes some gorgeous seats! I was restricted by the size of the Corvette as to which ones I could get, but I would highly recommend that as an early upgrade. The new Fox looks like it's going to be a blast to build, can't wait to see how that turns out!

Thanks for the great video. Going to order them today. A new subscriber too. What ever happened with the seat belt cable that you didn’t reattach. Any lights come on.

Thanks for watching! The C5 doesn't care about the cables that weren't reconnected. The C6 apparently throws error codes

Couldn’t locate part numbers for the seats and bracket. Are they on your site. Thanks so much love the content. 2003 coupe 20k. Purchased in January. Updated to 3.73 gears haltech air intake, professionally tuned engine and trans.

The seats are universal, Corbeau A4 seats. The sliders are vehicle specific, the Corbeau website has an easy vehicle lookup option. You're going to love them!

So you mounted the seats as far they would go on the rails and they were borderline too far back? Considering this in a C6.

The base mounting didn't leave much room for adjustment, the slider took some getting used to, but works as I added a clutch pedal extender to the car for a perfect fit. I've heard the C6 can have some error lights by swapping seats, make sure you do some research on that issue first

Looking at these for my C5 and came across your video. My question is you mentioned the seatbelt may throw a code. Did it and how did you get around it if so?

No code in my 2001! The install was super simple. I've read it's the C6 Corvettes that will throw a code, your C5 should be fine

Are you able to slide the seat up any further to accommodate your height? Is the seat all the way to the front? I have the height disadvantage too.

With the seat all the way forward, I'm comfortable with the exception of the clutch throw. I was able to find a clutch pedal extension on Amazon that was perfect, now everything is very comfortable for me.

Nice video man! I am 6'-1" with a 34-36 waist. What do you think - will I find these to be good for those 1-2 hour drives? Would you get the inflatable lumbar bladder? Thanks!

You may find yourself being more comfortable with the wide seat and shaved base, I have a 32-33-in waist 5'8" and feel like I am pretty snug in these seats. I have done multiple two plus hour drives in mind and they are very comfortable, but I cannot speak to how they will feel with the shaved base since you are tall enough to probably need it. I did not get the inflatable lumbar bladder or the heated option and have not missed it. Hope that helps!
