@@maxomega3 Problem with Heartsteel: You have to rush it fast to stack it, and you need to build waveclear items ASAP with Shen. Shen now lacks pressure in comparison to before, so after some levels it's not as easy to get the amount of gold needed to buy such an expensive item, wich even if you do, you'll still need to build Titanic and Sunfire afterwards to start dealing significant damage with it. In the meanwhile most bruisers will defeat Shen even if he has an advantage over them, with the exception of say Riven who sucks against tanks. Meanwhile other options give you more utility wich suits better Shen current state as an ult bot, and are cheaper. I do build heartsteel most of my games because I refuse to be an ult bot though, but all in all, it's a bad item and it's pretty evident most of the time that I would've been better with the alternatives instead of expending to scale with a champion that scales really really bad.

@@maxomega3 i dont agree. All skill cooldowns must be change or skill sets should have been revising. Knowing the matchups can only teach how to be begger on the lane to not die against instead of fair competition

​@@maxomega3but he is not talking about low elo. He's talking about Xpetu's achievement of 77% wr to challenger. Low elo is completely irrelevant, and even there Shen doesn't really shine

He's pressing a and then left clicking to attack move instead of right clicking on the minions so there's less of a risk he misclicks and moves in a way he doesn't intend to.

@@oliverTwisTeDandCO ofc. Bone plating is just a bit of flat damage reduction, shen Q is his only real source of damage and this video showcases how little damage it has.

It's 75 basic attack damage + 16 Q damage based on level + 37 Q damage based on percent health = 128 total damage, but reduced 36 by resistances, so 92, and reduced 39 by bone plating, so 53 final damage.

Maybe W can have a passive like Poppy's w to scale hp or armor and mr. Because when i look at it other tanks either have lots of base stat scaling tankiness, hp stacks or armor and mr stacks. Shen has kinda low base stat scaling as a tank and when i look at other tanks: Ornn: Passive Can upgrade item stats and he gets more hp, armor and mr when he buy items. Garen: W passive gives armor and mr. With 2 armor items he gets more armor than Shen or they get same tankiness if i have 4 armor items. Poppy: W passive is kinda same like Ornns if you get armor you get a bit more stat for it same for mr. Sion: Passive has a huge health stacking. Cho'Gath: R stacks hp if you kill someone or 6 minions or monsters.

However, I don't want to give Shen more percentage defensive scalings because support tank is already his best build and I want to increase variety. Also, I find the game more fun when abilities have clear active effects rather than being stat checks. In fact, I would approve if Shen's W made him completely invulnerable for the duration. That would also play into the ninja part of his fantasy.

I think adding some base dmg to the Q would give him more dueling power vs bruisers, and even the potential to actually build AP. So like, Q: 10 − 40 (based on level) (+ 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4% of target's maximum health (+ 1.5% per 100 AP) (+ 1% per 100 bonus AD)) (which is what you said) Emp Q: 10 − 40 (based on level) (+50% AD) (+50% AP) (+ 3 / 3.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 5% of target's maximum health (+ 1.5% per 100 AP) (+ 1% per 100 bonus AD)) The 50% AD scaling would also mean that he does ~30 more damage at level 1 per emp auto. Then if you put some scaling on the E as well: 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160 (+ 15% bonus health) (+80% bonus AD) (+80% bonus AP) I like your idea about changing the taunt duration tho. Our boy can now do bruiser and assassin stuff if you build the right items and get fed. As far as your W changes go, that seems to be the most popular suggestion, but recently I had 2 other ideas about what it might do: 1. Shen W could have a recast that warps him to the spirit refuge (while the refuge is active) This would allow for some awesome plays and outplays, and it fits really well with his lore. 2. Shen W could heal all allies within the refuge for like 2% of shen's health. This would make his sustain better (but not busted bc cooldowns).

@@panda5088 Giving Shen an ability that heals allies makes him even more of a support, so I prefer your warping idea. Giving E damage scalings would make it more difficult to balance, so right now I would focus on Q, instead. And here, the first decision to make is whether level 1 is really where you want to focus the buff? With Doran's Blade and adaptive force runes, your buff would give empowered Q an extra 120 damage at level 1.
