@@tridinh1011 People have been using (DSLR) FF telephoto lenses on APS-C cameras for decades and they've performed admirably. Additionally, it makes little sense to develop APS-C specific telephotos as their size & weight advantages diminish with long focal lengths. Have you seen the Fuji 100-400 lens? It's as big as FF 100-400 lenses.

Blame canon for that. Sigma would love to sell it for RF.

Just get the RF 100-500. Sigma is almost double the weight and is not that much cheaper (taking into account not being a native lens). Still, it is an impressive lens. I just dont know if you really need it in the RF lineup.

@@niceyesplease there's reasons why many people would pick this over the RF 100-500. And it definitely is cheaper. As a canon owner (2 separate bodies) I find it incredibly obnoxious when other canon users go "just get a canon lens". Canon people are so narcissistic.

Honestly this lens doesn't do as much justice from 60-200mm. Who is going to shoot 60mm at 4.5? Not portraits, not landscape, you won't be that close for wildlife. Doesn't make sense to me I would never shoot under 200mm.

Here in Sweden the Sigma is introduced at around 800USD more than the 200-600 is currently priced at. I'm sure it's nice for L-mount though

Maybe they see more revenue in this lens. The market is saturated with 70-200 lenses. But i'm pretty sure they are developing more than 1 lens at the same time.

A German dit compare exactly this on his chanel. The Sigma 150-600 was the sharpest of this three lenses followed by the new 60-600 Sigma and the Sony 200-600 was last. All three lenses are sharp but the Sigma lenses are a bit sharper as the Sony. AmazingNature Alpha is the name of this chanel.

Dustin Abbott also compared the three lenses but with different results - Sony and Sigma 60600 is neck to neck in the sharpness and the 150600 is behind. I guess it's down to sample variations of the lenses.

I'll say it's worth the money considering the insane performance on such a focal range.

why do you need a 60-600 if you have the 35-150? Wouldn't you just get the 150-600 or the 200-600 if 2 grand is your price range?

My guess cause at 200mm the (multiple, not just one) focus groups can line up in such a nice way to fully boost it to macro close up, in a way makes sense, since extreme ends of a zoom are harder to make. Focussing close with 500/600mm lens is quite hard, though sony lately seems to have a technology that focusses much closers, the 100-400mm GM started this. For 600mm lens (zoom one) i think it's still hard to make close focus without sacraficing infinity image quality to much (wich is used for birds most of time. Basically Sigma had a working design 60-600mm were happy then though hmmm 'close focus is a rising feature, can we do something'? Engineer: 'don't change formula please it's to good to change,' ok, what about seeing wich focal length is easiest to have macro capabilities at? Engineer 'oh yes now that you say we could actually do that on the middle focal length, wich has the most focus range of all focal length', 'ok that will be great feature, lets do it. :D something like that.

Just get a Sony camera or the Panasonic S5II if you are a Sony hater.

The DSLR version adapts very well on RF.

Used....a7ii $500usd, a7riii $1300usd, a9 $1500....not to mention the new a7r5 and of course, the flagship A1. During my next upgrade I'm switching from Canon to Sony. There's a reason why sony's gained so much market share in the last few years. They actually try to deliver what their customers want. I just wish the a7r5 had a better burst speed, comparable to the r5
