Here is a review and my premiere trip with the new X 2000! This is an X2 train that was put into service for the first time in 1990 and which has now been completely renovated. Many of the changes have been made to the technology behind the scenes, but for us passengers there is a lot of news. Join me on a trip in 1st class from Stockholm to Gothenburg!
In the near future, more renovated trains will roll out on the rails, so keep an eye out for the X 2000 with a black locomotive - then you know that it is a newly renovated train that you will be traveling in.
In this movie I show you 1 class, 2 class Calm and 2 Class standard. You will also see a short sequence from the bistro.
I paid for the trip with SJ Prio points. Tickets are usually from 30 EUR in 1 class 20 EUR in 2 class.
SJ's high-speed train trainruns from Stockholm to Gothenburg, Malmö, Karlstad, Östersund and Sundsvall, among others. SJ also uses SJ 3000, which is X55 by Bombardier. The top speed of all SJ high-speed trains is 200 km/h.

Det här är en genomgång och min premiärresa med nya SJ X 2000! X2-tågen sattes i trafik första gången 1990 och renoveras just nu fullständigt. Många av ändringarna är gjorda kring tekniken bakom kulisserna men för oss passagerare finns det mängder med nyheter. Häng med mig på en resa i 1 klass från Stockholm till Göteborg!
Närmaste tiden kommer fler renoverade tåg att rulla ut så håll utkik efter nya X 2000 med svart lok - då vet du att det är ett nyrenoverat tåg som du kommer att resa i.
I den här filmen visar jag er 1 klass, 2 klass Lugn och vanliga 2 Klass. Ni får även se en kort sekvens från bistron. Jag betalade för resan med SJ Prio-poäng.
SJ:s snabbtåg X2 går från Stockholm till bland annat Göteborg, Malmö, Oslo och Sundsvall. SJ kör även SJ 3000, vilket är X55 av Bombardier. Topphastigheten samtliga SJ Snabbtåg är 200 km/h.

Never tried the new X2 train but it certainly looks so good. However I will miss the old interior 😢

Nice video :) I've yet to go on the upgraded X2000, but they pass by at high speed at stations I often use in the Stockholm area. And the difference in noise is clearly noticeable. The power cars of the upgraded ones must be like 10 dB quieter thanks to more modern equipment on the inside. Makes for a nicer experience as they pass by - and must be great for the drivers! The new two-tone grey colour scheme, that I'm not in love with. Much better than the monotone grey, but not the best ever. I still kind of want them to try painting one set in the colours of my youth: orange loco & brown cars :D I do really like that the green accent on the doors with car & seat numbers on is repeated for the power outlets by the seats. Good idea to make the power outlets more visible, and very nice to use that same green as the consistent second colour.

Sounds like a really good idea with a different painting on the locomotive! Let’s go for that! If they can do it in planes they can do it on trains. 🥳

Orange and brown, yikes, no, all black. And yeah, the powers cars were always SO loud when passing by, especially for an electric train, so nice that they’ve reduced that noise level.

@@ncard00 How about this: One X2000 train each in every livery SJ has used? iirc that's 3-4 that have been in use on X2000, plus the all black, plus the orange&brown, plus the all brown, plus the blue 90s one. I'd love to see SL do the same for the Pendeltåg too, with their old color schemes.

@@GustavSvard I really don't care, the trains could be pink, rainbow coloured, or anything, with tons of graffiti covering all the windows, I only care about getting from A to B as fast as possible.

I was going to book a trip today this coming March but ALOT of the trains are not bookable due to this winter f-g up alot of them so they need maintenance. So as the trains get fixed those tickes will become bookable. Do you know how to see if I´m booking a refurbished one like the one you rode on? I´ve alot of hours in the old ones, would be nice to try the new one!

They don’t tell if there is a refurbished one you’re booking but a quick look on the seat map might give you a clue. Old X 2000 has a 2 Class Lugn-part with seat configuration 2+1 (this is an old 1 class cabin). Refurbished ones only have 2 Class Lugn with 2+2.

X2000 is not an EMU as there is only one car which provides power to the train.

​@@emilbt7588It is in fact an EMU, since it can be run together with another trainset, which happens on occation. It also has special semi-permanent couplers not compatible with other types of traincars. So yeah, it's an EMU according to the Swedish regulations.

⁠@@Rodoeht12345But not according to international standards, the acceleration of the X2000 is so slow, and the top speed is only 200km/h, which is too slow for high speed operation, should be 250km/h like the new trains.

Well, thanks but no thanks. No real restaurant car like on Snälltåget, to stand up and eat? No thanks! Tried it....never again. The interior was nice but the lack of a real restaurant car, Im not coming back!

it's two completely different markets. The market for the X2000 is primarily aimed at business travellers needing to go fast between the major hub cities in sweden. it's laid out so that people can work on board and that also means that there is no need for a dining car with seating, since the customers are expected to just pick something up and get back to their seat. If you look at Snälltåget, it isn't following that market at all and is aimed at people that want to travel a longer distance for a cheaper price, These trains sort of need a big dining car like Krogen since the trains are slower and seat more passengers.

Who cares about food, other than to get full asap, highest average speed/lowest possible travel time only matters, and of course free tickets and no delays.

There are some tables and seating in the bistro, in the other part if you continue forward past the fridges. However, it requires an IQ of close to 90 for it to enter the skull, which you did not seem to have at all, but thank you for standing up so clearly for your antisemitism.

The locomotive isn’t black, but dark grey, they should’ve made the whole train pitch black, looks way better, and these trains really need level boarding, at least in one of the cars, but all would be best, and accesible big toilets in all cars, 250km/h operation, more cars, and no tilting, they make me motion sick. Also, up the video quality to 4K60fps already!

250kmh without tilt? Damn dream on, you gotta rebuild the whole network for that. New signals, electrical system, rebuild and straighten track. Lots of work and money. Also gets rid of the one thing that makes x2000 unique.

@@SparkyFolfBut they are currently upgrading all the mainlines to 250km/h, one of them actually 320km/h, why they ordered 25 new 250km/h EMU’s to start service from 2026, and the X55 SJ 3000 trains are already for 250km/h operation as well, the lines just needs ERTMS signalling. And tilting is not unique, many other trains have it, like the ICE-TD in germany, and the new and old Amtrak Acela’s in the US.

@@ncard00 mh, i know about the upgrades. Acela was based on ICE and X2000.. they were on tour in the US and Canada way back. Pretty sure x2000 was one of the first trains with tilt

@@ncard00 the upgrades has stopped for now due to the government not wanting to spend money on such a big project.
