First acceleration test with the all-new 2020 Skoda Octavia Combi powered by the newly revised 2.0 TDI delivering 150 hp & 360 Nm of torque through a 7-speed DSG transmission. Unfortunately we didn't have time for an Autobahn run this time but you can still see, that the car pulls quite decent and reaches 100 quicker than claimed by Skoda (8.9 sec.). Interestingly enough this car offers a great spec for around 35k EUR list price! What are your thoughts? Please make sure to also follow all our stuff about this car on instagram! #Skoda #Octavia

Of all the new VW group models - the Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and this new Octavia - I think Skoda did the best job. Maybe not as this base model but if you look at the new vRS model it’s really good looking, super practical, okay fast daily driver and of course great value for money.

I have to agree with you, I own a 2018/19 Cupra 300, and the new Leon/Cupra design is a little off from the family tree so to speak. The Octavia just looks harmonious, relaxed and very stylish.

@@p91grwm14 the Octavia is based on the same platform as the golf and the A3 or Seat Leon and often uses the same engines - in size ( space inside ) it’s bigger than the others and also bigger than the A4 inside

I somehow think that the front looks a bit with the LED's like the Audi TT front But overall a really nice car what Skoda did there I'm looking forward to the RS 🚀🔥

How do you find the 7 speed DSG? I drove an Octavia 190ps with this and found it to be really slow and never in the correct gear for the engine torque. I find the ZF 6 speed torque converter automatic from 15 years ago to be so much better!

I noticed you didn't put the gearbox in sports mode. It gave a 'D" sign on the dash instead of an 'S'. You could activate it by pulling down the lever on the gearshifter 1 more time. The car reacts a lot faster that way.

Yes, you should test more "normal" cars! After this Skoda It would be fun to see Golf 8 TDI, Seat Leon TDI and Audi A3 since all four have the same engines, same gearbox. I wounder which one is the best, but nobody knows...

The A6 Will be slightly more comfortable but it also due to the fact that it is heavier than the A6. The A6 doesn't hold its value also as the Skoda Octavia. The Skoda is really spacious, you won't regret choosing it over the Audi

Really like the new Octavia, perhaps even better looking than the new Leon and the new Golf. The interior looks great and somewhat luxerious. Acceleration comparable with my current Golf estate 1.5 150hp dsg. In the normal world usually more than enough power.

You can turn off the traction control by pressing the ,,set” button after that you will be able to use launch control, but honestly it is probably the same as without launch control, maybe 0.2 second faster

I guess over the years Automann has gone from your achievable everyday fun fast car, to ridiculously overpriced super cars. I mean, back in the day, I bought my Ibiza Cupra and Leon Cupra because I liked what I saw from Automann and Autogefühl. Even though I arguably spend more money on cars than your average person, I'd never spend 100-500k€ on a car. Maybe it's time for a slight step back and drive and show more realistic cars again? I watch regardless, but still more enjoyable.

Wy are all these test done with a diesel engine? There are benzine engins to but no tests at all. I have the octavia 2 for 13 years and the 1.8 tsi is a perfect engin for this car.

This engine with 4X4 makes it a perfect daily. 190/200hp 2.0 TDI will come also.

the 200 hp version will easily keep up with hot hatches from supermini class at highway speeds, the previous generation with 185 hp diesel already did. then you look at fuel consumption and laugh out loud :)

@@MyRealName i had a 210 hp corsa OPC, and it took 24 seconds to reach 200kmh, skoda octavia rs takes 35 seconds, so it does not keep up ;D

In very very few years the classic traffic we know, will be replaced with FSD cars, who runs on electric and alternative energy. In just one year Tesla is ready with the first FSD car, who drives on AI alone.
