When I am going through this with novies, because our winds very a lot, I get them to draw out different patters based on the canopy's glide ratio and canopy's airspeed/ ground speed. Seeing a discussion on the effect of wind could also help your novices and student develop a better understanding of how to judge where the circuit entry point should be in different conditions.

When you said you were going to talk about the difference in the pattern now that you're jumping with others, I thought you were going to talk about potential things you could do when multiple people are at the same altitude and entering the pattern at the same point. Good info, though.

How can I contact you privately? I have just started AFF. I live just outside Eugene. I have a number of questions if you have the time. Certainly canopy coaching is in my future.

I’m looking into getting my AFF and A license and I got the altimeter and pulling down, the only thing I’m a bit nervous is piloting the canopy. Will the ground school teach us this and have like a simulator, to help us get a sense on how hard we have to pull especially with winds? I’ve tandemed 3 times now the last jump I pulled the chute and was responsible to correctly deploy it at the appropriate altitude (5,000). I did get a chance to pilot the canopy but I haven’t had much experience to be confident on piloting it alone. I guess that’s the only thing keeping me away from doing the AFF and A license. What would you recommend? Also I was thinking of doing some tunnel time to see my stabilization techniques because like I said I’ve only done tandem and it’s hard to see how my posture would be with someone attached ahah! This video made me feels a little better though, looking for your advice.
